SSD activity indicator codes
The Solid State Drive (SSD) indicators display different patterns as drive events occur in the system.
NOTE: The sled must have an SSD or an SSD blank installed in each drive bay.

NOTE:
If the drive is in the Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) mode, the status LED (on the right side) does not
function and remains off.

Drive-Status indicator pattern Condition
Flashes green twice per second
Identifying the drive or preparing for removal
Off
Drive ready for insertion or removal
NOTE: The drive status indicator remains off until all drives are
initialized after system power is supplied. Drives are not ready for
insertion or removal during this time.
Flashes green, amber, and then turns off Predicted drive failure
Flashes amber four times per second Drive failed
Flashes green slowly Drive rebuilding
Steady green Drive online
Flashes green for three seconds, amber for three
seconds, and turns off after six seconds
Rebuild aborted
iDRAC Direct LED indicator codes
The iDRAC Direct LED indicator lights up to indicate that the port is connected and is being used as a part of the iDRAC
subsystem.
NOTE: The iDRAC Direct LED indicator does not turn on when the USB port is used in the USB mode.
