Prerequisites
CAUTION:
Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform
troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or
telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by
your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that are shipped with your product.
1. Ensure that you read the Safety instructions on page 33.
2. Remove the cooling fan.
NOTE: You must remove a cooling fan to replace a faulty fan or service other components in the system.
Steps
1. Align the plug at the base of the cooling fan with the connector on the PCIe switch board/fan interface board.
2. Slide the cooling fan into the chassis until the plug engages with the connector on the PCIe switch board/fan interface
board.
