System battery
The system battery is used to power the real-time clock and storing the BIOS settings of the system.
Replacing the system battery
Steps
1. Locate the battery socket. For more information, see the System board connectors section.
CAUTION:
To avoid damage to the battery connector, you must firmly support the connector while installing
or removing a battery.
2. Place your finger between the securing tabs at the negative side of the battery connector, and lift the battery out of the
socket.

3. To install a new system battery, hold the battery with the "+" facing up and slide it under the securing tabs.
4. Press the battery into the connector until it snaps into place.
