Installing the control panel board
Prerequisites
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform
troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or
telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by
your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that are shipped with your product.
1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.
2. Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system section.
3. Keep the Phillips #2 screwdriver ready.
Steps
1. Fit the control panel board in the chassis, while aligning the screw holes on the control panel board with the standoffs on the
chassis.
2. Secure the control panel board to the chassis with the two screws.
CAUTION:
The display module connector is a ZIF (zero insertion force) connector. Ensure that the locking
tab on the connector is released before removal and insertion. The locking tab must be engaged after
insertion.
3. Connect the USB cable, control panel cable, and the display module cable to the control panel board.
4. Route the power and data cables through the cable retention bracket.
