Removing the System From the Rack
To remove the system from the rack, perform the following procedure:
1
Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system
from the electrical outlet.
2
Remove the I/O cable connectors and power cable connectors from
their respective connectors on the system back panel.
3
Loosen the thumbscrews on each side of the front chassis panel
that secures the system to the rack.
4
Pull the system out of the rack until it stops because of the safety catch.
5
Pull up on the front release latch on each rail to disengage the safety catch
(see Figure 1-7) and slide the system forward.
6
Pull the system completely out of the rack.
Installing the Cable-Management Arm
NOTE: Follow the steps for installing a Cable-Management Arm (CMA) if you
ordered a CMA with your system. If you did not order a CMA, Dell recommends that
you retain the documentation for installing this feature in the event that you choose
to order a CMA at a later time.
NOTE: You can attach the
cable-management arm to either side of the rack cabinet.
NOTE: Attach the
cable-management arm ramp assembly to the side opposite
of where you attach the cable-management arm.
1
Fit the latch on the front end of the cable-management arm onto
the bracket on the end of the mounting rail until the latch clicks
(see Figure 1-8).
2
Fit the latch on the unattached end of the cable-management arm
onto the bracket on the end of the slide assembly until the latch clicks
(see Figure 1-8).
CAUTION: Both ends of the cable-management arm must be connected before
you begin routing the system cables
.
