Use the member command in Stack Configuration mode to preconfigure a
switch stack member. Execute this command on the Management Switch. To
remove a stack-member configuration from the stack, use the no form of the
command.
The no form of the command may not be used if the member is present in the stack.
Syntax
member unit switchindex
no member unit
unit — The switch identifier of the switch to be added or removed from
the stack. (Range: 1–12)
switchindex — The index into the database of the supported switch
types, indicating the type of the switch being preconfigured. The switch
index is obtained from the
show supported switchtype
command.
Default configuration
This command has no defaults.

User Guidelines
The switch index (SID) can be obtained by executing the
show supported
switchtype
command in User Exec mode. When removing a unit from a
stack, use the no member command to remove the stack member
configuration after physically removing the unit.
Example
The following example displays how to add to stack switch number 2 with
index 1.
