Switch Management Commands 2029
User Guidelines
User defined limits are only operational if the power management mode is
configured as static. By default, the power management mode is dynamic. If
the operator attempts to set a user-defined limit and the power management
mode is not configured as static, a warning is issued. On systems that support
four-pair power, the UI does not check the limit against the port capability or
the configuration. To deliver 60W power, ensure that the port is configured in
four-pair mode.
The maximum configurable power limit is 32000 milliwatts for two-pair
power. The maximum configurable power limit is 57000 milliwatts for four-
pair power. The actual power delivered in two-pair or four-pair mode may
exceed the user defined limit by up to 5%. In four-pair static mode, the
maximum power delivery is approximately 59850 milliwatts (60W). Four pair
power is available in any of the power management modes. In class mode,
twice the detected class power is delivered (64W). In dynamic mode, up to
62W may be delivered.
The Dell EMC Networking 3024P/N3048P switches implement 4-pair PoE
60W on the first 12 lowest numbered 1G ports. The N3132PX-ON switches
implement PoE 60W on the copper 1G and 5G ports. The N2128PX-ON
switches implement PoE 60W on the 2.5G ports.
The lower numbered Dell EMC Networking N1108P/N1124P/N1148P front-
panel copper ports support PoE (15.4W) and PoE+ (34.2W) as well as legacy
capacitive detection for pre-standard powered devices (PDs). The N1108P
supports PoE on ports 1-4 or any two of the ports may supply PoE+ power.
The N1124P supports PoE on ports 5-16 or any six of the ports may supply
PoE+ power. The N1148P supports PoE on ports 1-24 or any twelve of the
ports may supply PoE+ power.
Example
This example configures interface Gi1/0/1 to deliver 60W four-pair power.
console#configure
console(config)#power inline management static
console(config)#interface gi1/0/1
console(config-if-Gi1/0/1)#power inline four-pair forced
This example configures interface Gi1/0/2 to deliver 50W four-pair power
(within the 5% tolerance). The port will deliver up to 52500 mW.
console#configure
