Using the CLI 256
Starting the CLI
To begin running the CLI, perform the following steps:
NOTE: This procedure is for use on the console line only.
NOTE: The Easy Setup Wizard may appear if the switch has no user configuration
saved. Follow the procedure in the Getting Started Guide to configure the switch
using the Easy Setup Wizard.

Start the switch and wait until the startup procedure is complete and the
User Exec mode is entered. The prompt console> is displayed.

Configure the switch and complete any required tasks.

When finished, exit the session with the quit or exit command.
The switch can be managed over a direct connection to the switch console
port or through a Telnet connection. If access is through a Telnet connection,
the switch must have a defined IP address, corresponding management access
granted, and a connection to the network.
