User Guidelines
This command has no user guidelines.
Example
The following example enables VRRP protocol on the router.
console(config)#ip vrrp
vrrp accept-mode
Use the vrrp accept-mode command in Interface (VLAN) Configuration
mode to enable the VRRP Primary to accept ping packets sent to one of the
virtual router’s IP addresses from an external device. Use the no form of the
command to disable responding to ping packets.

vrid — Virtual router identification. (Range: 1-255)
Default Configuration
The default configuration is disabled.
Command Mode
Interface Configuration (VLAN) mode.
User Guidelines
The VRRP IP address is not pingable from within the switch.
vrrp authentication
Use the vrrp authentication command in Interface Configuration mode to
set the authentication details value for the virtual router configured on a
specified interface. Use the no form of the command to return the
authentication type to the default value.
