Switch Management Commands 1979
Example
The following example configures the device to accept Simple Network Time
Protocol (SNTP) traffic from the server at IP address 192.1.1.1.
console(config)# sntp server 192.1.1.1
sntp source-interface
Use the sntp source-interface command to select the interface from which to
use the IP address in the source IP address field of transmitted SNTP packets.
Use the no form of the command to revert to the default IP address.
Syntax
sntp source-interface {loopback
loopback-id
| vlan
vlan-id
}
no sntp source-interface
loopback-id
— A loopback interface identifier.
vlan-id
— A VLAN identifier.
Default Configuration
By default, the switch uses the assigned switch IP address as the source IP
address for SNTP packets. This is either the IP address assigned to the VLAN
from which the SNTP packet originates or the out-of-band interface IP
address.
Command Mode

User Guidelines
The source interface must have an assigned IP address (either manually or via
another method such as DHCP). This command is not supported on Dell
EMC N1100-ON switches. Dell EMC N1100-ON switches support
configuration of a single IP address in interface vlan configuration mode.
That IP address is used as the source interface address for this function.
Command History
Introduced in version 6.3.0.1 firmware.
