Configuring RSPAN (Filtering Traffic)
monitor session
session_id source remote
vlan vlan_id
Configure a source RSPAN VLAN on the destination
switch.
monitor session
session_id destination
interface interface
Configure the destination port on the RSPAN destination
switch.
monitor session
session_id mode
Enable the monitor session.
Command Purpose
configure Enter Global Configuration mode.
vlan vlan-id Create a VLAN.
remote-span Configure the VLAN as an RSPAN VLAN.
exit Exit to Global Configuration mode.
mac access-list extended
testQinQ
Create a MAC access-list named testQinQ.
permit any any
secondary-vlan eq vlan-
id
Match on the inner VLAN of the RSPAN tagged
packets. An optional sequence number may be
added to the ACL.
exit Exit to Global Configuration mode.
monitor session session-
id destination remote
vlan vlan-id reflector-
port Te1/0/24
Set Te1/0/24 as the RSPAN reflector.

Te1/0/1
Set Te1/0/1 as the source interface

Apply the VLAN filter to monitored traffic. Mirrored
traffic other than VLAN is dropped on egress.

Command Purpose
