Default Configuration
By default, the interface does not have a description.

User Guidelines
This command has no user guidelines.
Example
The following example adds a description to the Ethernet port 5.
console(config)#interface gigabitethernet 1/0/5
console(config-if-Gi1/0/5)# description RD_SW#3
duplex
Use the duplex command in Interface Configuration mode to configure the
duplex operation of a given Ethernet interface. To restore the default, use the
no form of this command.
Syntax
duplex {auto | half | full}
no duplex
• auto —Enable auto-negotiation for the port.
•
half —Force half-duplex operation and disable auto-negotiation.
•
full — Force full-duplex operation and disable auto-negotiation.
Default Configuration
Auto-negotiation is enabled by default on copper ports.
