User Guidelines
A MAC address consists of 12 hexadecimal digits. The MAC address of the
authentication station is sent in the User-Name attribute in a RADIUS
Access-Request for MAC Authentication Bypass configured stations.
The following table shows some example formats:

Command History
Command introduced in version 6.5 firmware.
mab request format attribute 2
Use this command to override the password sent in MAB Access Requests.
Syntax
mab request format attribute 2 [0 | 7]
password
0 — The password entered is in unencrypted format.
7 — The password entered is in encrypted format.
password
— A configurable password up to 32 alphanumeric characters in
length.
Default Configuration
The default password format is unencrypted, however, passwords are always
stored in the running config and saved config as encrypted. Passwords are
always displayed as encrypted.
The default password (attribute 2) sent in the Access-Request for MAB hosts
is the host MAC address.
