Concept Guide

metric value: The value is from 0 to 16777215. The default is 0.
route-map map-name: Specify the name of a congured route map to be consulted before adding the ISIS route.
Include specic OSPF routes into BGP.
ROUTER BGP or CONF-ROUTER_BGPv6_ AF mode
redistribute ospf process-id [match external {1 | 2} | match internal] [metric-type {external
| internal}] [route-map map-name]
Congure the following parameters:
ospf: Indicates that you are redistributing OSPF routes in BGP.
process-id: the range is from 1 to 65535.
match internal, external1, and external2: Specify the type of OSPF routes to be redistributed into BGP.
metric-type: external or internal.
route-map map-name: Specify the name of a congured route map to be consulted before adding the OSPF route.
Example conguration for redistributing routes
DellEMC# configure terminal
DellEMC(conf)# ip route 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 null 0
DellEMC(conf)# router bgp 400
DellEMC(conf-router_bgp_af)# redistribute static
DellEMC(conf-router_bgp_af)# exit
The above conguration example show how to create a static route and redistribute the static routes into the BGP routing table.
Enabling Additional Paths
The additional path allows the advertisement of more paths in addition to the best path. Enabling additional path allows the advertisement
of multiple paths for the same address prex without the new paths replacing any previous paths. The additional path feature is disabled by
default.
NOTE
: Dell EMC Networking OS recommends not to use multipath and add path simultaneously in a route reector.
To allow multiple paths sent to peers, use the following commands.
1 Allow the advertisement of multiple paths (send, receive or both).
CONFIG-ROUTER-BGP or CONFIG-ROUTER-BGP-AF mode
bgp add-path [both | enable | receive | send] path-count
Congure the following parameters:
both: Indicate that the system sends and accepts multiple paths from peers.
enable: Indicate that the system enables add-path support for the node.
send: Indicate that the system sends multiple paths to peers.
receive: Indicate that the system accepts multiple paths from peers.
path-count: Indicate that the system sends multiple paths to peers. The range is from 2 to 64.
2 Allow the specied neighbor or peer group to allow multiple path advertisements.
CONFIG-ROUTER-BGP or CONFIG-ROUTER-BGP-AF mode
neighbor [ip-address | ipv6–address | peer-group-name] add-path [send | receive | both] path-
count
NOTE
: The path-count parameter controls the number of paths that are advertised, not the number of paths that are
received.
