Related Commands show ip bgp neighbors — displays routes received by a neighbor.
neighbor timers
Set keepalive and hold time timers for a BGP neighbor or a peer group.
Syntax
neighbor {ip-address | peer-group-name} timers keepalive holdtime
To return to the default values, use the no neighbor {ip-address | peer-group-name}
timers command.
Parameters
ip-address Enter the IP address of the peer router in dotted decimal format.
peer-group-name Enter the name of the peer group to set the timers for all routers within the peer
group.
keepalive Enter a number for the time interval, in seconds, between keepalive messages sent
to the neighbor routers. The range is from 1 to 65535. The default is 60 seconds.
holdtime Enter a number for the time interval, in seconds, between the last keepalive
message and declaring the router dead. The range is from 3 to 65535. The default
is 180 seconds.

Usage Information
Timer values congured with the neighbor timers command override the timer values congured with
any other command.
When two neighbors, congured with dierent keepalive and holdtime values, negotiate for new
values, the resulting values are as follows:
