Usage Information
Use the interface port-channel command to access this command.
You cannot add an interface to a Port Channel if the interface contains an IP address in its conguration. Only the
shutdown, description, mtu, and ip mtu commands can be congured on an interface if it is added to a
Port Channel. The
mtu and ip mtu commands are only available when the chassis is in Jumbo mode.
Link MTU and IP MTU considerations for Port Channels are:
All members must have the same link MTU value and the same IP MTU value.
The Port Channel link MTU and IP MTU must be less than or equal to the link MTU and IP MTU values
congured on the channel members. For example, if the members have a link MTU of 2100 and an IP MTU
2000, the Port Channel’s MTU values cannot be higher than 2100 for link MTU or 2000 bytes for IP MTU.
When an interface is removed from a Port Channel with the no channel-member command, the interface
reverts to its conguration prior to joining the Port Channel.
An interface can belong to only one Port Channel.
You can have 16 interfaces per Port Channel. The interfaces can be located on dierent line cards but must be the
same physical type and speed (for example, all 10-Gigabit Ethernet interfaces).
For more information about Port Channels, refer to the Dell Networking OS Conguration Guide.
