Connectivity Guide
• Apply queuing policies in the output direction on physical interfaces or in System-Qos mode.
• Apply a application type policy-map in System-Qos mode.
When you apply a policy on a system, the policy is eective on all the ports in the system. However, the interface-level policy takes
precedence over the system-level policy.
Ingress trac classication
Ingress trac can either be data or control trac.
By default, OS10 does not classify data trac and assigns the default trac class ID 0 to all data trac.
OS10 implicitly classies all control trac such as STP, OSPF, ICMP, and so on, and forwards the trac to control plane applications.
Data trac classication
You can classify the data trac based on ACL or trust.
ACL-based classication consumes signicant amount of network processor resources. Trust-based classication classies trac in a pre-
dened way without using network processor resources.
Trust based classication
OS10 supports classication based on the 802.1p CoS eld (L2) or DSCP eld (L3).
802.1p CoS trust map:
Trust the 802.1p CoS eld to mark with a trac-class ID and color for the CoS ow.
Table 59. Default 802.1p CoS trust map
CoS Trac class ID Color
0 1 G
1 0 G
2 2 G
3 3 G
4 4 G
5 5 G
6 6 G
7 7 G
User–dened 802.1p CoS trust map
You can override the default mapping by creating a dot1p trust map. All the unspecied dot1p entries map to the default trac class ID 0.
Congure user–dened 802.1p CoS trust map
1 Create a dot1p trust map.
OS10(config)# trust dot1p-map dot1p-trust-map
OS10(config-tmap-dot1p-map)#
