Monitoring and Maintaining Interfaces
Monitor interface statistics with the monitor interface command. This command displays an ongoing
list of the interface status (up/down), number of packets, traffic statistics, and so on.
To view the interface’s statistics, use the following command.
• View the interface’s statistics.
EXEC Privilege mode
Enter the type of interface and slot/port [/subport] information:
– For a 10-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword TenGigabitEthernet then the slot/port[/
subport]
information.
– For a 40-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword fortyGigE then the slot/port information.
– For the Management interface on the stack-unit, enter the keyword ManagementEthernet then
the slot/port information. The slot range is from 1 to 11. The port range is 1.
Example of the monitor interface Command
The information displays in a continuous run, refreshing every 2 seconds by default. To manage the
output, use the following keys.
• m — Change mode
• l — Page up
• T — Increase refresh interval (by 1 second)
• t — Decrease refresh interval (by 1 second)
• c — Clear screen
• a — Page down
• q — Quit
