redundancy force-failover stack-unit
A new standby is elected. When the former stack master comes back online, it becomes a member unit.
Prevent the stack master from rebooting after a failover.
CONFIGURATION mode
redundancy disable-auto-reboot stack-unit
This command does not aect a forced failover, manual reset, or a stack-link disconnect.
Display redundancy information.
EXEC Privilege mode
show redundancy
Resetting a Unit on a Stack
You may reset any stack unit except for the master management unit, as shown in the following message.
% Error: Reset of master unit is not allowed.
To rest a unit on a stack, use the following commands.
Reload a stack-unit.

reset stack-unit unit-number
Reload a member unit, from the unit itself.
EXEC Privilege mode
reset-self
Reset a stack-unit when the unit is in a problem state.
EXEC Privilege mode
reset stack-unit unit-number {hard}
Enabling Mixed-mode Stacking
On the S4048-ON and S4048T-ON switches, mixed-mode stacking is disabled by default.
To enable mixed-mode stacking on the S4048T-ON or S4048–ON, perform the following steps:
1 In conguration mode, enter the mixed-mode-stacking enable command:
mixed-mode-stacking enable
The following message appears prompting you to conrm the conguration:
Enabling mixed-mode-stacking requires configuration save and reload to operate in compatible
with S4048-ON.
Do you want to reload? Proceed[confirm yes/no]:
2 Enter yes at this prompt and press the return key.
The following message appears prompting you to save the conguration:
System configuration has been modified. Save? [yes/no]:
3 Enter yes again and press the return key.
