Configuring a UNIX Logging Facility Level
You can save system log messages with a UNIX system logging facility.
To configure a UNIX logging facility level, use the following command.
• Specify one of the following parameters.
CONFIGURATION mode
logging facility [facility-type]
○ auth (for authorization messages)
○ cron (for system scheduler messages)
○ daemon (for system daemons)
○ kern (for kernel messages)
○ local0 (for local use)
○ local1 (for local use)
○ local2 (for local use)
○ local3 (for local use)
○ local4 (for local use)
○ local5 (for local use)
○ local6 (for local use)
○ local7 (for local use)
○ lpr (for line printer system messages)
○ mail (for mail system messages)
○ news (for USENET news messages)
○ sys9 (system use)
○ sys10 (system use)
○ sys11 (system use)
○ sys12 (system use)
○ sys13 (system use)
○ sys14 (system use)
○ syslog (for syslog messages)
○ user (for user programs)
○ uucp (UNIX to UNIX copy protocol)
