Usage Information
To return to the default MTU value, use the no mtu command. If an IP packet includes a L2 header, the IP MTU
must be at least 32 bytes smaller than the L2 MTU.
• Port-channels
– All members must have the same link MTU value and the same IP MTU value.
– The port channel link MTU and IP MTU must be less than or equal to the link MTU and IP MTU values you
congure on the channel members. For example, if the members have a link MTU of 2100 and an IP MTU
2000, the port channel’s MTU values cannot be higher than 2100 for link MTU or 2000 bytes for IP MTU.
• VLANS
– All members of a VLAN must have same IP MTU value.
– Members can have dierent link MTU values. Tagged members must have a link MTU four bytes higher
than untagged members to account for the packet tag.
– The VLAN link MTU and IP MTU must be less than or equal to the link MTU and IP MTU value you
congure on the VLAN members. For example, the VLAN contains tagged members with a link MTU of
1522 and IP MTU of 1500 and untagged members with link MTU of 1518 and IP MTU of 1500. The VLAN’s
link MTU cannot be higher than 1518 bytes and its IP MTU cannot be higher than 1500 bytes.
Example
OS10(conf-if-eth1/1/7)# mtu 3000
Supported Releases 10.2.0E or later
port-group
Congures a group of front-panel unied ports, or a double-density QSFP28 (QSFP28-DD) or single-density QSFP28 port group.
Syntax
port-group node/slot/port-group
Parameters
• node/slot — Enter 1/1 for node/slot when you congure a port group.
• port-group — Enter the port-group number, from 1 to 16. The available port-group range depends on the
switch.
Default Not congured
Command mode CONFIGURATION
Usage information Enter PORT-GROUP mode to:
• Congure unied ports in Fibre Channel or Ethernet mode and break out interfaces with a specied speed.
• Break out an MX9116n QSFP28-DD or QSFP28 port group into multiple interfaces with a specied speed.
To view the ports that belong to a port group, use the show port-group command.
Example
OS10(config)# port-group 1/1/8
OS10(conf-pg-1/1/8)#
Supported releases 10.3.1E or later
scale-prole vlan
Congures the L2 VLAN scale prole on a switch.
Syntax
scale-profile vlan
116 Interfaces
