spanning-tree vlan priority
Sets the priority value for RPVST+.
Syntax
spanning-tree vlan vlan-id priority priority value
Parameters priority priority value — Enter a bridge-priority value in increments of 4096, from 0 to 61440. Valid
priority values are: 0, 4096, 8192, 12288, 16384, 20480, 24576, 28672, 32768, 36864, 40960, 45056, 49152, 53248,
57344, and 61440. All other values are rejected.

Usage Information The RPVST+ protocol determines the root bridge. Assign one bridge a lower priority to increase the probability of it
being the root bridge. A lower priority value increases the probability of the bridge becoming a root bridge.

OS10(config)# spanning-tree vlan 10 priority 0

spanning-tree vlan priority (Interface)
Sets an interface priority when two bridges compete for position as the root bridge.
Syntax
spanning-tree vlan vlan-id priority value
Parameters value — Enter a priority value in the increments of 16, from 0 to 240.
Default 128

Usage Information Breaks the tie between the two bridges which compete for root bridge.

OS10(conf-if-eth1/1/4)# spanning-tree vlan 10 priority 16

Designates a device as the primary or secondary root bridge.
Syntax
spanning-tree vlan vlan-id root {primary | secondary}
Parameters
vlan-id — Enter a VLAN ID number, from 1 to 4093.
root — Designate the bridge as the primary or secondary root.
primary — Designate the bridge as the primary or root bridge.
