Reference Guide
Peak rate is the maximum rate for trac arriving or leaving an interface under normal trac conditions. Peak burst size indicates the
maximum size of unused peak bandwidth that is aggregated. This aggregated bandwidth enables brief durations of burst trac that
exceeds the peak rate.
Congure Interface rate policing
1 Create a QoS type empty class-map to match all the trac
OS10(config)# class-map cmap-all-traffic
2 Create a QoS type policy-map to dene a policer
OS10(config)# policy-map interface-policer
OS10(config-pmap-qos)# class cmap-all-traffic
OS10(config-pmap-c-qos)#police cir 4000 pir 6000
Congure ow rate policing
1 Create a QoS type class-map to match the trac ow
OS10(config)# class-map cmap-cos3
OS10(config-cmap-qos)# match cos 3
2 Create a QoS type policy-map to dene a policer and assign a trac class ID for the CoS ow
OS10(config)# policy-map flow-policer
OS10(config-pmap-qos)# class cmap-cos3
OS10(config-pmap-c-qos)# set qos-group 3
OS10(config-pmap-c-qos)#police cir 4000 pir 6000
Mark Trac
You can select a ow and mark with a trac class ID. The trac ow is identied by the trac class ID when the trac reaches egress for
queue scheduling.
Mark trac
1 Create a QoS type class-map to match the trac ow
OS10(config)# class-map cmap-cos3
OS10(config-cmap-qos)# match cos 3
2 Create a QoS type policy-map to mark with a trac class ID and assign it for the CoS ow.
OS10(config)# policy-map cos3-TC3
OS10(config-pmap-qos)# class cmap-cos3
OS10(config-pmap-c-qos)# set qos-group 3
Color trac
You can select a trac ow and mark it with a color.
You can color the trac ow based on:
• Metering. See Policing trac.
• Default trust. See Trust based classication.
• DSCP , ECN capable trac (ECT), or non-ECT.
Color trac based on DSCP, ECT, or non-ECT
1 Create a QoS type class-map to match the trac ow.
OS10(config)# class-map cmap-dscp-3-ect
OS10(config-cmap-qos)# match ip dscp 3 ecn 1
2 Create a QoS type policy-map to color the trac ow.
OS10(config)# policy-map ect-color
OS10(config-pmap-qos)# class cmap-dscp-3-ect
