Table 71. Basic TLVs
TLV Type Description
Port description 4 User-defined alphanumeric string that
describes the port (port ID or interface
description).
System name 5 User-defined alphanumeric string that
identifies the system.
System description 6 Includes the following information:
Host description
Dell OS version
Dell application software version
Build timestamp
System capabilities 7 Determines the capabilities of the
system.
Management address 8 Network address of the management
interface.
Organizationally specific TLVs

TLV Subtype Description
Link aggregation 7
Indicates whether the link associated
with the port on which the LLDPDU
is transmitted is aggregated.
Provides the aggregated port
identifier.
Port VLAN ID 1 Untagged VLAN to which a port belongs.
Protocol identity 4 Not supported.
VLAN name 3 Allows an IEEE 802.1Q-compatible
device to advertise the assigned name of
any VLAN with which it is configured.
NOTE: By default, VLAN name TLV
will be disabled.

TLV Subtype Description
MAC/PHY configuration/status 1 Indicates:
Duplex and bit rate capability and the
current duplex and bit rate settings
of the sending device.
Whether the current settings are
due to auto-negotiation or manual
configuration.
Power through MDI 2 Not supported.
Maximum frame size 4 Maximum frame size capability of the
MAC and PHY.
