For a 10-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword
TenGigabitEthernet then the slot/port information.
For a 40-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword
fortyGigE then the slot/port information.
Defaults Without an interface specified, the command clears all interface dampening counters.

Information
On the S4820T, after you enter the clear counters command and verify the results with
the show interfaces command, the line rate is not reset to 0.00%.

Syntax
dampening [[[[half-life] [reuse-threshold]] [suppress-
threshold]] [max-suppress-time]]
Parameters
half-life
Enter the number of seconds after which the penalty is decreased.
The penalty decreases half after the half-life period expires. The
range is from 1 to 30 seconds. The default is 5 seconds.
reuse-threshold
Enter a number as the reuse threshold, the penalty value below which
the interface state is changed to “up”. The range is from 1 to 20000.
The default is 750.
