Virtual LAN (VLAN) Commands
The following commands configure and monitor virtual LANs (VLANs). VLANs are a virtual interface and use many of the
same commands as physical interfaces.
You can configure an IP address and Layer 3 protocols on a VLAN called Inter-VLAN routing. FTP, TFTP, ACLs and
SNMP are not supported on a VLAN.
Occasionally, while sending broadcast traffic over multiple Layer 3 VLANs, the VRRP state of a VLAN interface may
continually switch between Master and Backup.
NOTE: For more information, refer to VLAN Stacking and VLAN-related commands, such as portmode hybrid in the
Interfaces chapter.
default vlan-id
Specify a VLAN as the Default VLAN.
S4820T
Syntax
default vlan-id vlan-id
To remove the default VLAN status from a VLAN and VLAN 1 does not exist, use the no
default vlan-id vlan-id syntax.
