Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP)
Overview
The FTOS implementation of RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol) is based on the
IEEE 802.1w standard spanning-tree protocol. The RSTP algorithm configures
connectivity throughout a bridged LAN that is comprised of LANs interconnected by
bridges.
RSTP is supported by FTOS on all Dell Force10 systems, as indicated by the
characters that appear below each command heading: C-Series:
c, E-Series: e,
S-Series: s, , or .
