The neighbor shutdown command terminates all BGP sessions on the BGP neighbor
or BGP peer group. Use this command with caution as it terminates the specified
BGP sessions. When a neighbor or peer group is shutdown, use the show ip bgp ipv6
unicast summary command to confirm its status.

Usage
Information
This command enables soft-reconfiguration for the specified BGP neighbor. BGP
will store all updates for inbound IPv6 unicast routes received by the neighbor but
will not reset the peer-session.

Enter the IP address of the neighbor for which you want to start
storing inbound routing updates.
peer-group-name
Enter the name of the peer group for which you want to start storing
inbound routing updates.
Caution: Inbound update storage is a memory-intensive operation. The entire BGP update
database from the neighbor is stored in memory regardless of the inbound policy results
applied on the neighbor.
