Viewing Files
You can only view file information and content on local file systems.
To view a list of files or the contents of a file, use the following commands.
• View a list of files on the internal flash of an RPM.
EXEC Privilege mode
dir flash:
• View a list of files on the external flash of an RPM.
EXEC Privilege mode
dir slot:
• View the contents of a file in the internal flash of an RPM.
EXEC Privilege mode
show file rpm{0|1}flash://filename
• View the contents of a file in the external flash of an RPM.
EXEC Privilege mode
• View the running-configuration.
EXEC Privilege mode
show running-config
• View the startup-configuration.

Example of the dir Command
The output of the dir command also shows the read/write privileges, size (in bytes), and date of 
modification for each file.
