Management Interfaces
The S4810 and S4820T systems support the Management Ethernet interface as well as the standard
S-Series interface on any port. Either method can be used to connect to the system.
Management Interfaces on the E-Series, C-Series, S4810 and
the S4820
On the E-Series, C-Series, S4810, and S4820T the dedicated Management interface provides management
access to the system. You can configure this interface with FTOS, but the configuration options on this
interface are limited. Gateway addresses and IP addresses cannot be configured if it appears in the main
routing table of FTOS. In addition, Proxy ARP is not supported on this interface.
Note: On the S4810 and S4820T, a default IP address is assigned to the Management port. Use this IP
address to set your laptop Ethernet port to the same network for test purposes.
