You must replace the fan air lters with new lters; you cannot clean and reuse the old fan air lters. Replacement lter media must meet
the requirements found in GR-63-CORE.
Minimum dust arrestance of 65%, per ASHRAE Standard 52.1-1992. OR
Minimum Eciency Rating Value (MERV) of 2, per ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 52.2-2007.
CAUTION: For Network Equipment Building Systems (NEBS) compliance, use NEBS-approved lters.
Use fan air lters with reverse blue-banded air ow switches—PSUs and fans. You can replace the air lters individually on each fan within
the switch without powering down a PSU module or disrupting trac.
The fan air lter media slides into the frame from the top. No tools are required.
1 Determine which lters to replace.
2 Unlatch and remove the rst module that needs the lter replaced.
3 Slide the existing lter upwards to remove it from the module.
4 Replace the lter with a new lter of the same size.
5 Reinsert the fan module.
6 Repeat for the remaining modules that need the lter replaced.
