• For a 10-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword TenGigabitEthernet then
the slot/port/subport information.
• For a 40-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword fortyGigE then the slot/
port information.
• For a Loopback interface, enter the keyword loopback then a number from 0 to
16383.
• For a port-channel interface, enter the keywords port-channel then the port-
channel ID.
• For a VLAN, enter the keyword vlan then a number from 1 to 4094.
priority
(OPTIONAL) Enter the priority used in RP election process. The range is zero (0) to 255.
The default is 192. In the RP election process, the RP with the lower priority takes the
precedence.
acl-name
(OPTIONAL) Enter the name of an ACL to configure a PIM router to act as an RP for a
specific set of multicast group addresses that are defined in the ACL.
NOTE: If you do not specify the acl-name, the system uses the default
multicast IPv6 group range, which is ff00::/8.
Defaults Not configured.

ipv6 pim sparse-mode
Enable IPv6 PIM sparse mode and MLD on the interface.
Syntax
ipv6 pim sparse-mode
To disable IPv6 PIM sparse mode and MLD on the interface, use the no ipv6 pim sparse-mode command.
Defaults Disabled.
