write
Copy the current conguration to either the startup-conguration le or the terminal.
Syntax
write {memory compressed| terminal}
Parameters
memory Enter the keyword memory to copy the current running conguration to the
startup conguration le. This command is similar to the copy running-
config startup-config
command.
compressed Enter the keyword compressed to write the operating conguration to the
startup-cong le in the compressed mode.
terminal Enter the keyword terminal to copy the current running conguration to the
terminal. This command is similar to the show running-config command.

Usage Information The write memory command saves the running-conguration to the le labeled startup-conguration.
When using a LOCAL CONFIG FILE other than the startup-cong not named “startup-conguration” (for
example, you used a specic le during the boot config command), the running-cong is not saved to
that le; use the
copy command to save any running-conguration changes to that local le.
