Users Guide

The neighbor shutdown command terminates all BGP sessions on the BGP neighbor or BGP peer group. Use
this command with caution as it terminates the specied BGP sessions. When a neighbor or peer group is shut
down, use the show ip bgp summary command to conrm its status.

• show ip bgp summary — display the current BGP conguration.
• show ip bgp neighbors — display the current BGP neighbors.
neighbor soft-reconguration inbound
Enable soft-reconguration for BGP.
Syntax
neighbor {ip-address | peer-group-name} soft-reconfiguration inbound
To disable, use the no neighbor {ip-address | peer-group-name} soft-reconfiguration
inbound command.
Parameters
ip-address Enter the IP address of the neighbor in dotted decimal format.
peer-group-name Enter the name of the peer group to disable or enable all routers within the peer group.
Defaults Disabled

Usage Information
This command enables soft-reconguration for the BGP neighbor specied. BGP stores all the updates the
neighbor receives but does not reset the peer-session.
