service-pool wred
A global buer pool that is a shared buer pool accessed by multiple queues when the minimum guaranteed buers for the queue are
consumed can be congured on the S6000 and Z9000 platforms.
Create a global buer pool that is a shared buer pool accessed by multiple queues when the minimum guaranteed buers for the queue
are consumed. S4810, S4820T, S6000, and Z9000 platforms support four global service-pools in the egress direction. Two service pools are
used—one for lossy queues and the other for lossless (priority-based ow control (PFC)) queues. You can enable WRED and ECN
conguration on the global service-pools. You can dene WRED proles and weight on each of the global service-pools for both lossy and
lossless (PFC) service-pools.
Syntax
[No] service-pool wred {green | weight | yellow} pool0 number/string
Parameters
service-pool Dene the mapping between the service class and policy-based QoS or routing.
wred Specify WRED curve parameters for a queue.
green Specify green (low) drop precedence to a queue.
weight Specify a weight factor to a queue.
yellow Specify yellow (medium) drop precedence to a queue.
pool0 Service-pool buer 1 (default service-pool for PFC trac) .
pool1 Service-pool buer 0 (default service-pool for both lossy and lossless trac. trac).
number Enter a weight for the queue as a number in the range of 1 to 15. This parameter applies
only if you specify the green or yellow drop precedence.
string Enter the WRED prole name. It is a string of up to 32 characters. Or use one of the ve
pre-dened WRED prole names. Pre-dened Proles: wred_drop, wred-ge_y,
wred_teng_y, wred_teng_. This parameter applies only if you specify a weight factor.
Default All queues on backplane ports operate in tail-drop (best-eort trac) mode by default. There is no default WRED
green or yellow prole. The default weight is 0.

Version Description
9.10(0.0) Introduced on the S6100-ON.
9.8(1.0) Introduced on the Z9100-ON.
9.7(0.0) Introduced on the S6000-ON.
9.3.0.0 Introduced on the S6000 and Z9000 platforms
Usage Information
You can congure only service pool 0. The pool, service0, is used for lossy queues.
A WRED prole contains a set of attributes, such as the minimum and maximum threshold values, and the
maximum drop rate for the received packets. You can add or remove WRED parameter congurations for one or
more shared service pools using a single command. The service-pool wred command is similar in usage and
working to the service-class bandwidth-percentage queue-id command.
