Usage Information
After conguring the ntp authentication-key command, congure the ntp trusted-key command to
complete NTP authentication.
Dell Networking OS versions 8.2.1.0 and later use an encryption algorithm to store the authentication key that is
dierent from previous Dell Networking OS versions; beginning in version 8.2.1.0, Dell Networking OS uses DES
encryption to store the key in the startup-cong when you enter the
ntp authentication-key command.
Therefore, if your system boots with a startup-conguration from an Dell Networking OS versions prior to 8.2.1.0 in
which you have congured ntp authentication-key, the system cannot correctly decrypt the key, and
cannot authenticate NTP packets. In this case you must re-enter this command and save the running-cong to the
startup-cong.
