52 Dell EMC Networking Virtualization Overlay with BGP EVPN
10.7 Add distributed port groups
In this section, distributed port groups are created on the VDS. One port group is created for each VNI.
To create the port groups:
1. In the vSphere Web Client, go to Home > Networking.
2. Right-click on Mgmt-VDS. Select Distributed Port Group > New Distributed Port Group.
3. On the Select name and location page, provide a name for the distributed port group to be
associated with the first VNI configured on the leaf switches, e.g., VNI-1614-PG. Click Next.
4. On the Configure settings page, next to VLAN type: select VLAN. Next to VLAN ID, specify the
VLAN associated with the first VNI on the leaf switches. In this example, VLAN 1614 is used.
5. Leave the remaining values at their defaults and click Next > Finish.
6. Complete steps 2 through 4 for the remaining VNIs, 1615 and 1616.
When complete, the Navigator pane appears as shown:

10.8 Create LACP LAGs
Since VLT port channels are configured on the leaf switches, LACP LAGs are configured on the VDS.
To enable LACP on Mgmt-VDS:
1. In the vSphere Web Client, go to Home > Networking.
2. In the Navigator pane, select Mgmt-VDS.
3. In the center pane, select Configure > Settings > LACP.
4. Click the icon. The New Link Aggregation Group dialog box opens.
a. Keep the default name, lag1.
b. Set Number of ports equal to the number of physical uplinks on each ESXi host. In this
deployment example, this number is set to 2.
c. Set the Mode to Active. The remaining fields remain at their default values as shown in Figure
17.
