NOTE: If the slide assemblies were preinstalled by Dell, you can skip this section.
You must allow 2 U (3.5 inches) of vertical space for each PowerVault 56F switch you
install in the rack.
NOTE: The vertical rails of the rack are marked by small indentations in 1-U incre-
ments (see Figure 6).

To install the slide assemblies in the rack, perform the following steps:
NOTE: Each slide assembly has a fixed (non-adjustable) and floating (adjustable)
mounting bracket. When installing the slide assemblies in the rack, make sure that
the fixed mounting bracket is mounted at the front of the rack; otherwise, you will not
be able to install the switch.
1. Place the front of the template on the vertical rails at the front of the rack where
you want to install the switch.
Ensure that the printing on the template identifies the side facing outwards as
the template front.
