Exposing the PowerVault™ MD3000i virtual disks to the DL Backup to Disk Appliance
This section explains the steps required to enable iSCSI access to the PowerVault™ MD3000i virtual disks
from the DL Backup to Disk appliance. These steps may require assistance from your SAN
Administrator.
1. Launch the MDSM on the system being used as the management station.
2. Click on the Configure tab, and then select Configure Host Access (Manual).
3. At Enter host name, enter the hostname of the DL Backup to Disk Appliance. Select the DL
Backup to Disk Appliance’s hostname again in step 9
4. In the Select host type drop-down menu select “Windows Server 2003/ Server 2008 Non-
Clustered” as the host type (operating system). Click Next to continue.
5. If the iSCSI Initiator of the DL Backup to Disk Appliance shows up in the list of known iSCSI
initiators, make sure it is highlighted and click Add. Click Next to continue. Otherwise, click
New and enter the iSCSI Initiator name. The iSCSI Initiator name can be found on the General
tab of the iSCSI Initiator properties window on the DL Backup to Disk Appliance. (Refer to
figure 3).
