42 Preparing Your Systems for Clustering
Manual Storage Array Discovery

Launch MD Storage Manager.
If this is the first storage array to be set up, the
Add New Storage Array
window appears.

Select
Manual
and click
OK
.

Select
Out-of-band management
and enter the host server name(s) or
IP address(es) of the iSCSI storage array controller.

Click
Add
.
Out-of-band management should now be successfully configured.
After discovery is complete, a confirmation screen appears. Click
Close
to
close the screen.
Setting Up the Array

When discovery is complete, the name of the first storage array found
appears under the
Summary
tab in MD Storage Manager.

The default name for the newly discovered storage array is
Unnamed
.
If another name appears, click the down arrow next to that name and
choose
Unnamed
in the drop-down list.

Click the
Initial Setup Tasks
option to see links to the remaining
post-installation tasks. For more information about each task, see the
User’s Guide.
Perform these tasks in the order shown in Table 3-3.
NOTE: Before configuring the storage array, check the status icons on the
Summary tab to ensure that the enclosures in the storage array are in an
optimal status. For more information on the status icons, see"Troubleshooting
Tools" on page 72.
