Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 displays an error message
in /var/log/messages
Description: After restarting Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, the PCIe devices display an error message in the /var/log/
messages log file kernel: pci 0000:01:00.0: can't claim BAR 6 [mem
0xfff80000-0xffffffff pref]: no compatible bridge window.
Applies to: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2
Cause: The addresses of the expansion ROM BARs do not contain accurate values.
Workaround: This error message can be ignored because there is no functionality loss.
Unable to reboot Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 after the
successful installation on iSCSI or FC or FCoE
Description: Unable to reboot Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 after successful installation by using virtual media, on iSCSI
or FC or FCoE.
Applies to: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.x
Cause: Virtual media does not unmount, when the operating system tries to unmount it.
Workaround: Manually restart by using iDRAC or physically reset the system.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 displays an unknown
netevent message during FCoE boot
Description:
While booting Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 installed on a FCoE LUN, the system displays a Unknown
netevent 5 message in the /var/log/messages log file.
Applies to: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0
Cause: The message is displayed because of missing handlers for network events such as NETDEV_REGISTER,
NETDEV_CHANGEADDR, NETDEV_CHANGENAME and NETDEV_PRE_UP.
Workaround: This error message can be ignored because there is no functionality loss.
Ethtool offline test for network devices do not restore
its previous state
Description:
After performing ethtool offline test for network devices, the devices do not reassign the gateway IP
address.
Applies to: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0
Cause: Not available
Workaround: Manually run the command #ifdown emX before the test and #ifup emX after the test, to revert the
interface to the original state.
