This table lists actions available for creating and managing backup sets.
Backup Set Actions
Action Description
Components
Refresh Components Refreshes the component pane display.
Scheduling
Suspend Schedule Suspends the schedule for the selected backup set.
Resume Schedule Resumes a backup set schedule that is suspended.
Modify Schedule Modifies an existing backup set schedule.
Delete Schedule Deletes a backup set schedule.
Backup Set
Create Backup Set Opens the Create Backup Set dialog with the selected components added.
Run Now Immediately submits a job for the selected backup set.
Modify Settings Modifies settings and components for an existing backup set.
Delete Backup Set Deletes the selected backup set.
Prepare for Script Creates a sample set of PowerShell cmdlets for submitting the selected backup set for
execution. Copy and paste the cmdlets into a script.
Restore Points
Restore Restores the data in a restore point. Not available for the Local Volumes extension, the
VMware Datastore extension, or for physical RDMs for VMware.
Resync Allows for a fast recovery for a restore point. Not available for Hyper-V, or for restore points
containing SQL system databases or Cluster Shared Volumes (CSVs).
If the resync fails with the message VSS restore completed with failure and the
disk appears offline:
1. Open Server Manager and select Disk Management.
2. Right-click on the disk that is offline and select Online.
3. From a command-line interface type the following commands:
DISKPART> select disk <DISK NUMBER>
DISKPART> attributes disk clear readonly
DISKPART> online Disk
NOTE: For a resync failure with Exchange databases or volumes having an Exchange
database, mount the Exchange database from Exchange Admin Center.
Expose Exposes the selected restore point to the specified target and mount path.
Unexpose Removes the mount points (access paths) from the server.
Unimport Unmaps the view volumes related to that restore point from the Storage Center to the server.
Delete Restore Point Removes the selected restore points from Replay Manager and the corresponding Replays
from Storage Center.
Force Keep Ensures that the selected restore points are not deleted automatically, regardless of the
backup set’s retention policy.
Add Notes Adds a note to a restore point. The note text is displayed on the Restore Point Details tab. This
field is limited to 256 or fewer characters.
