Modifying Snapshot Proles
Modify a snapshot prole to change the automated snapshot creation and expiration schedules that are applied to the associated volumes.
Changes to a snapshot prole aect only new snapshots taken with the modied snapshot prole. Existing snapshots are not changed.

Rename a Snapshot Prole
Use the Edit Snapshot Prole dialog box to rename a snapshotprole.
1 If the Storage Manager Client is connected to a Data Collector, select a Storage Center from the Storage view.
2 Click the Storage tab.
3 In the Storage tab navigation pane, select the snapshotprole that you want to modify.
4 In the right pane, click Edit Settings.
The Edit Snapshot Prole dialog box opens.
5 In the Name eld, type a new name for the snapshotprole.
6 Click OK.
Modify Rules for a Snapshot Prole
Snapshot Prole rules determine when snapshots are created and expired.
1 If the Storage Manager Client is connected to a Data Collector, select a Storage Center from the Storage view.
2 Click the Storage tab.
3 In the Storage tab navigation pane, select the Snapshot Prole that you want to modify.
4 In the right pane, click Edit Settings.
The Edit Snapshot Prole dialog box opens.
5 (Optional) Add a rule to the snapshot prole.
a Click Add Rule. The Add Rule dialog box appears.
b From the drop-down menu, select the frequency at which the rule runs.
c Congure the dates and times at which you want snapshots to be created.
d In the Expiration eld, type the length of time to keep snapshots before deleting them.
e Click OK.
6 (Optional) Modify the existing rules as needed.
• To modify a rule, select the rule, then click Edit Rule.
• To remove a rule, select the rule, then click Remove Rule.
7 Click OK.
Change the Snapshot Creation Method for a Snapshot Prole
The snapshot creation method controls how snapshots triggered by the snapshotprole are created.
1 If the Storage Manager Client is connected to a Data Collector, select a Storage Center from the Storage view.
2 Click the Storage tab.
3 In the Storage tab navigation pane, select the Snapshot Prole that you want to modify.
4 In the right pane, click Edit Settings.
The Edit Snapshot Prole dialog box opens.
