Set Threshold Alert Denitions for a Front-End IO Port
Congure one or more Threshold Alert Denitions for an IO port if you want to be notied when an IO port reaches specic bandwidth or
latency thresholds.
1 If the Storage Manager Client is connected to a Data Collector, select a Storage Center from the Storage view.
2 Click the Storage tab.
3 In the Storage tab navigation pane, select Fault Domains, then click the Front End Ports subtab.
4 Double-click the IO port.
The Hardware tab for the IO port opens.
5 Click Set Threshold Alert Denitions.
The Set Threshold Alert Denitions dialog box opens.
6 From the Selected Alert Denitions table, select the alert denition for which you want to congure a threshold alert and click Create
Threshold Denition.
The Create Threshold Denition dialog box opens.
7 Congure the threshold denition attributes as needed, then click OK. These attributes are described in the online help.
8 From the Available Alert Denitions table, click the new alert denition.
The threshold alert is automatically set for the selected alert denition.
9 (Optional) To remove the Threshold Alert Denition, hold Ctrl and click the alert denition in the .Selected Alert Denitions table,
then hold Ctrl and click the threshold alert in the .Available Alert Denitions table.
The alert threshold is removed from the alert denition.
10 Click OK.
Congure Front-End I/O Ports (Fibre Channel and SAS)
On SCv2000 series and SCv3000 series storage systems, uncongured Fibre Channel and SAS ports must be congured before they can
be used as front-end ports.
1 If the Storage Manager Client is connected to a Data Collector, select a Storage Center from the Storage view.
2 Click the Storage tab.
3 In the Storage tab navigation pane, select Fault Domains, then click the Uncongured Ports subtab.
4 In the right pane, select an uncongured Fibre Channel or SAS I/O port.
5 Click Congure Port.
Congure Front-End I/O Ports (iSCSI)
On SCv2000 series and SCv3000 series storage systems, uncongured iSCSI ports must be congured before they can be used as front-
end ports..
1 If the Storage Manager Client is connected to a Data Collector, select a Storage Center from the Storage view.
2 Click the Storage tab.
3 In the Storage tab navigation pane, select Fault Domains, then click the Uncongured Ports subtab.
4 In the right pane, select an uncongured iSCSI I/O port.
5 Click Congure Port.
6 Type an IP address for the port.
7 Click OK.
