Search for Storage Manager Events
Use the Search eld to nd text in the list of Storage Manager events.
1 Click the Monitoring view
2 Click the Events tab.
3 Enter the text to search for in the Search eld.
4 To make the search case sensitive, select the Match Case check box.
5 To prevent the search from wrapping, clear the Wrap check box.
6 To only match whole words or phrases within the events, select the Full Match check box.
7 To highlight all of the matches of the search, select the Highlight check box.
8 Click Find Next or Find Previous to search for the text.
If a match is found, the rst event with matching text is selected from the list of Storage Manager events.
If a match is not found, an Error dialog box appears and it displays the text that could not be found.
NOTE: By default, when a search reaches the bottom of the list and Find Next is clicked, the search wraps around to the
rst match in the list. When a search reaches the top of the list and Find Previous is clicked, the search wraps around to the
last match in the list.
Conguring Email Alerts for Storage Manager Events
To receive email notications for Storage Manager events, congure SMTP server settings for the Data Collector, add an email address to
your user account, and enable notication emails for the events.
Congure SMTP Server Settings
The SMTP server settings must be congured to allow Storage Manager to send notication emails.
1 Connect to the Data Collector.
a Open a web browser.
b Type the address of the Data Collector in the web browser using the following format:
https://data_collector_host_name_or_IP_address:3033/
c Press Enter.
The Storage Manager login page is displayed.
d Type the user name and password of a Data Collector user with Administrator privileges in the User Name and Password eld.
e Click Log In.

If a Storage Center is selected from the drop-down list, click (Home) in the left navigation pane.
3 Click Data Collector.
The Data Collector view is displayed.
4 Click the Environment tab and, then click the SMTP Server subtab.
5 Click Edit.
The SMTP Server Conguration dialog box opens.
6 Congure the SMTP server settings by performing the following steps:
a In the From Email Address eld, type the email address to display as the sender of emails from the Data Collector.
b In the Host or IP Address eld, type the host name or IP address of the SMTP server.
c If the port number of the SMTP server is not 25, type the correct port number in the Port eld.
