Add a Controller (Congure Storage Center Wizard)
Congure the second controller for systems with two controllers. The Congure Storage Center Wizard automatically adds the second
controller for SC4020 Storage Centers with two controllers. You must manually congure the SC8000 Storage Center.
About this task
• If the system has only one controller, click Next to proceed to the Set System Information page.
• For SC4020 Storage Centers with two controllers, click Next to add the second controller automatically.
• For SC8000 Storage Centers with two controllers, proceed with the following steps.
Steps
1 Type a serial number for the second controller.
2 Type the IPv4 address and eth1 IPv4 address of the second controller.
3 If the rst controller has an IPv6 address set and the Storage Center supports IPv6, type the IPv6 address and IPv6 subnet prex of
the second controller.
4 Click Next. The Set System Information page opens.
Set System Information
The Set System Information page allows you to enter Storage Center and storage controller conguration information to use when
connecting to the Storage Center using Storage Manager.
1 Type a descriptive name for the Storage Center in the Storage Center Name eld.
2 Select the Network Conguration Source (Storage Center 7.3 and later).
• DHCP IPv4 – Selected by default. IP addresses will be discovered and assigned.
• Static – Enter static IP addresses manually.
3 If the network conguration source is set to Static:
a Type the system management IPv4 address for the Storage Center in the Virtual Management IPv4 Address eld.
The management IPv4 address is the IP address used to manage the Storage Center and is dierent than a storage controller
IPv4 address.
b Type an IPv4 address for the management port of each storage controller.
NOTE
: The storage controller IPv4 addresses and management IPv4 address must be within the same subnet.
c Type the subnet mask of the management network in the Subnet Mask eld.
d Type the gateway address of the management network in the Gateway IPv4 Address eld.
e Type the domain name of the management network in the Domain Name eld.
f Type the DNS server addresses of the management network in the DNS Server and Secondary DNS Server elds.
4 Click Next.
Enter Key Management Server Settings
Specify key management server settings, such as hostname and port.
1 In the Hostname eld, type the host name or IP address of the key management server.
2 In the Port eld, type the number of a port with open communication with the key management server.
3 In the Timeout eld, type the amount of time in seconds after which the Storage Center should stop attempting to reconnect to the
key management server after a failure.
4 To add alternate key management servers, type the host name or IP address of another key management server in the Alternate
Hostnames area, and then click Add.
