Microsoft Windows-Desktop Desktop Verknüpfung Symbole Schaltfläche Start Taskleiste Infobereich Übersicht Der Microsoft® Windows®-Desktop ist der Anzeigebereich, der nach dem Start des Windows-Betriebssystems angezeigt wird. Der Desktop besteht aus einem Hintergrund, Symbolen, Verknüpfungen und einer Taskleiste, die sich normalerweise am unteren Rand des Bildschirms befindet. Hinzufügen von Symbolen im Infobereich Passen Sie die Taskleiste an, indem Sie die Symbole auswählen, die im Infobereich angezeigt oder versteckt werden sollen. 1 Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf einen offenen Bereich der Taskleiste. 2 Klicken Sie auf Eigenschaften. Die Registerkarte Taskleiste wird angezeigt. 3 Wählen Sie bei Computern mit Windows Vista® die Registerkarte Infobereich. Fahren Sie bei Computern mit Windows® XP mit dem nächsten Schritt fort.
• Symbole für Verknüpfungen – Symbole für Verknüpfungen sind durch einen Pfeil gekennzeichnet; Verknüpfungen dienen zum schnellen Zugriff auf Programme, Dateien oder Ordner. Sie können Verknüpfungen gefahrlos löschen, ohne dass dies eine Auswirkung auf die Objekte hat, auf die die Verknüpfungen verweisen. • Symbole für Programme und Dateien – Symbole für Programmdateien, Dokumente oder Ordner sind nicht durch einen Pfeil gekennzeichnet.
Verwenden von Windows-Explorer: 1 Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf die Schaltfläche Start und wählen Sie Explorer. Wechseln Sie zu dem Ordner oder der Datei, zu der Sie eine Verknüpfung erstellen möchten. 2 Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf das Objekt, markieren Sie Senden an und klicken Sie anschließend auf Desktop (Verknüpfung erstellen).
Ändern der Darstellung des Desktops Schaltfläche Start Systemsteuerung Fenster Eigenschaften von Anzeige Sie können das Aussehen Ihres Desktops durch Ändern verschiedener Komponenten individuell anpassen. Die meisten dieser Komponenten können Sie im Fenster Eigenschaften von Anzeige verändern. Im Menü Eigenschaften von Anzeige können Sie das Design des Desktops, die Bildauflösung, den Bildschirmschoner, die Größe und die Darstellung der Symbole und die Monitoreinstellungen bearbeiten.
3 Sehen Sie sich die verfügbaren Optionen an, und befolgen Sie die gezeigten Anweisungen. Aus dem Startmenü: 1 Klicken Sie auf Start sung. → Systemsteuerung→ Darstellung und Anpas- 2 Klicken Sie auf Anpassung. Das Fenster Darstellung und Anpassung wird angezeigt. 3 Sehen Sie sich die verfügbaren Optionen an, und befolgen Sie die gezeigten Anweisungen. Einrichten eines Bildschirmschoners Voransicht für Bildschirmschoner Auswahlmöglichkeiten für den Bildschirmschoner Einstellung der Wartezeit für den Bildschirmschoner Ein Bildschirmschoner ist ein Bild, das angezeigt wird, wenn während einer voreingestellten Zeitspanne keine Eingaben am Computer vorgenommen werden. Sie können die Wartezeit bis zum Aktivieren des Bildschirmschoners und ein individuelles Bild auswählen.
Windows XP 1 Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf einen leeren Bereich des Desktops. 2 Klicken Sie auf Eigenschaften. Das Fenster Eigenschaften von Anzeige wird angezeigt. 3 Klicken Sie auf die Registerkarte Bildschirmschoner und wählen Sie einen Bildschirmschoner. 4 Stellen Sie die Wartezeit ein, nach der der Bildschirmschoner aktiviert werden soll. 5 Klicken Sie auf OK. ANMERKUNG: Nach Aktivierung des Bildschirmschoners müssen Sie sich u. U. erneut anmelden, um Zugriff auf Ihren Computer zu haben.
Startmenü Übersicht Die Schaltfläche Start öffnet das Startmenü, in dem Sie Zugriff auf die folgenden Optionen erhalten: • Systemsteuerung • Programme • Dateien • Computereinstellungen • Dienstprogramme zum Überwachen der Computerleistung • Hilfe und Support von Windows Die Menge und Art der über das Startmenü verfügbaren Programme, ist davon abhängig, welche Software auf Ihrem Computer installiert ist. Das Startmenü kann zum Neustarten oder Herunterfahren des Computers verwendet werden.

Anpassen des Startmenüs Sie können das Startmenü über das Fenster Eigenschaften von Taskleiste und Startmenü anpassen. 1 Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf einen leeren Bereich der Taskleiste. 2 Wählen Sie Eigenschaften. Das Fenster Eigenschaften von Taskleiste und Startmenü wird angezeigt. 3 Passen Sie das Startmenü durch Auswählen der gewünschten Option auf der Registerkarte Start an.
Systemsteuerung Die Systemsteuerung enthält Programme und Hilfsmittel zur Wartung und Anpassung des Computers.

Einstellen der Auflösung des Bildschirms Die Bildschirmauflösung bestimmt die Feinheit der Detailwiedergabe von Bildern. Wenn Sie die Auflösung erhöhen, erscheinen die Elemente auf dem Bildschirm kleiner. Bei niedrigerer Auflösung werden Text und Bilder größer auf dem Bildschirm dargestellt. Notieren Sie vor dem Ändern der Auflösung die aktuellen Werte, sodass Sie sie bei Bedarf wieder herstellen können.

Verwendung des Umgebungslichtsensors in hellen oder schlecht beleuchteten Umgebungen ANMERKUNG: Ihr Laptop verfügt u. U. nicht über einen Umgebungslichtsensor. ANMERKUNG: Der Umgebungslichtsensor steuert lediglich die Helligkeit der Hintergrundanzeige des Laptop-Bildschirms. Er regelt nicht die Helligkeit eines externen Bildschirms oder Projektors. Der Umgebungslichtsensor befindet sich auf der Vorderseite des Bildschirms.
ANMERKUNG: Der Umgebungslichtsensor wird automatisch ausgeschaltet, wenn Ihr Computer in eine Steckdose eingesteckt wird. Bei Verwendung der Tastenkombination für die Bildschirmhelligkeit wird der Umgebungslichtsensor ausgeschaltet und anschließend die Bildschirmhelligkeit entsprechend höher oder niedriger eingestellt. ANMERKUNG: Wird der Computer neu gestartet, dann wird der Umgebungslichtsensor auf die vorige Einstellung zurückgesetzt (entweder ein- oder ausgeschaltet).

Maus Linke Maustaste Rechte Maustaste Scrollrad Eine Maus besitzt normalerweise zwei Tasten und ein Scrollrad. • Verwenden Sie die linke und rechte Taste, um im Bildschirm angezeigte Elemente auszuwählen oder anzuklicken. • Mit dem Scrollrad können Sie durch die Seiten oder Fenster im Bildschirm blättern. Verwenden eines USB-Zeigegeräts (Maus) Ihr Computer erkennt normalerweise selbst die Treiber für Ihre Maus und instal-liert diese, wenn die Maus an die USB-Schnittstelle angeschlossen ist. ANMERKUNG: Es kann jedoch sein, dass Ihr Computer einige Mäuse nicht selbst entdecken kann. In diesem Fall müssen Sie die zugehörigen Treiber manuell installieren. Einrichten des Standarddruckers Richten Sie den Drucker, den Sie am meisten verwenden, als Standarddrucker ein. Klicken Sie hierzu mit der rechten Maustaste auf das Druckersymbol und wählen Sie die Option Als Standarddrucker einrichten aus. Über dem Symbol des ausgewählten Standarddruckers erscheint eine Markierung. Gemeinsame Drucker in einem Netzwerk Ein gemeinsamer Drucker ist ein Drucker, der von mehr als einem Computer aus angesteuert werden kann.

Installieren eines Druckertreibers Druckertreiber-CD Tintenstrahldrucker Laserdrucker Ein Treiber ist ein Programm, das zur Steuerung eines Gerätes, z.B. eines Druckers, sowie zur Kommunikation zwischen Gerät und Computer verwendet wird. Alle Geräte benötigen ein Treiberprogramm. Druckertreiber werden auf einer CD zusammen mit dem Drucker geliefert.
ANMERKUNG: In den meisten Fällen startet das Programm Drivers and Utilities automatisch. Ist dies nicht der Fall, starten Sie Windows Explorer, klicken Sie auf das Verzeichnis des Laufwerks, in dem sich der Datenträger befindet, dessen Inhalt Sie anzeigen möchten, und doppelklicken Sie auf die Datei autorcd.exe. 3 Wenn das Fenster InstallShield-Assistent beendet angezeigt wird, nehmen Sie den Drivers and Utilities-Datenträger heraus, und klicken Sie auf Fertig stellen, um den Computer neu zu starten.
Festplattenlaufwerke und Datenträger Auf der Festplatte Platz schaffen Microsoft® Windows Vista® reserviert rund 1 GB auf einer Festplatte für Betriebssystemfunktionen, der restliche Platz kann für andere Standardvorgänge genutzt werden. So bestimmen Sie die Festplattenspeichergröße für den Shadow-Speicher: 1 Klicken Sie auf Start → Alle Programme→ Zubehör. 2 Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf Eingabeaufforderung. 3 Klicken Sie auf Als Administrator ausführen. 4 Wenn ein Bestätigungsfenster erscheint, klicken Sie auf Fortsetzen. 5 Geben Sie folgenden Befehl ein: vssadmin list shadowstorage. 6 drücken. In der Eingabeaufforderung wird der vom Shadow-Speicher verwendete Speicherplatz angezeigt.
Solid-State Drive (SSD) Ein Solid-State Drive (SSD) ist ein Speichermedium, das einen Festkörperspeicher für die persistente Speicherung von Daten verwendet. Festkörper ist ein Begriff aus der Elektrotechnik für elektronische Schaltkreise, die ausschließlich aus Halbleitern bestehen, während Festplatten ein magnetisches Speichermedium verwenden.
Ersetzen eines Treibers mit einer vorherigen Version des Treibers Tritt nach der Installation oder Aktualisierung eines Treibers ein Problem auf, verwenden Sie den vorherigen Treiber von Windows. 1 Klicken Sie auf Start auf Computer. und anschließend mit der rechten Maustaste 2 Klicken Sie auf Eigenschaften→ Geräte-Manager. 3 Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf die Geräte, für die ein neuer Treiber installiert wurde, und anschließend auf Eigenschaften.

HINWEIS: Die Dell Support-Website unter support.dell.com und Ihre Drivers and Utilities-Datenträger zeigen die Treiber für Dell Computer. Wenn Treiber installiert werden, die von anderen Quellen stammen, arbeitet der Computer möglicherweise nicht ordnungsgemäß. Probleme mit optischen Laufwerken ANMERKUNG: Ein Vibrieren des optischen Hochgeschwindigkeitslaufwerks ist normal und kann Geräusche verursachen, die nicht auf einen Fehler im Lauf-werk oder ein defektes Medium hinweisen. RAID-Klasse 0 HINWEIS: RAID-Klasse 0 stellt keine Redundanz bereit. Aus diesem Grund kommt es beim Ausfall eines Laufwerks zum Verlust aller Daten. Führen Sie regelmäßige Updates durch, um Ihre Daten zu schützen. RAID-Klasse 0 verwendet Data-Striping für die Bereitstellung einer hohen Datenzugriffsrate. Beim Data-Striping werden aufeinanderfolgende Datensegmente oder Stripes (Streifen) nacheinander auf die physischen Laufwerke geschrieben, um ein großes virtuelles Laufwerk zu erzeugen.
Falls eines der Laufwerke ausfällt, werden alle Lese- und Schreibzugriffe weiterhin auf dem anderen Laufwerk ausgeführt. Ein Ersatzlaufwerk kann dann mit den Daten des funktionierenden Laufwerks neu bespielt werden. ANMERKUNG: Die Speicherkapazität einer RAID-1-Konfiguration entspricht der Größe des kleinsten Laufwerks in der Konfiguration.
RAID-0+1-Konfiguration Ein RAID-0+1-Array verbindet die hohe Datenzugriffsrate eines RAID-0Arrays mit dem Datenschutz (Datenredundanz) einer RAID-1-Spiegelung, indem Daten per Data-Striping auf zwei Laufwerke geschrieben und dann auf zwei weitere Laufwerke gespiegelt werden. Falls eines der Laufwerke ausfällt, werden alle nachfolgenden Lese- und Schreibzugriffe auf die anderen intakten Laufwerke umgeleitet. Ein Ersatzlaufwerk kann dann mit den Daten von den intakten Laufwerken neu bespielt werden.
RAID-5-Konfiguration Die RAID-Klasse 5 verwendet Datenparität. RAID-Klasse 5 verteilt sowohl Daten- und Paritätsinformationen über das so genannte Striping auf drei oder mehr Laufwerke. Diese Klasse bietet Data Striping auf Byte-Ebene und liefert Stripe-Fehlerkorrekturdaten (Array mit abwechselnder Parität). Es verfügt damit über eine hervorragende Leistung und gute Fehlertoleranz.

ANMERKUNG: Die Festplatten in einer RAID-Konfiguration müssen die gleiche Größe haben, um zu vermeiden, dass evtl. Speicherplatz nicht zugewiesen wird.
Zuweisen von Festplattenlaufwerken zu einem RAID-Array vor der Installation des Betriebssystems HINWEIS: Bei der folgenden Installation werden alle Daten von Ihrer Festplatte gelöscht. 5 Wählen Sie im Dropdown-Feld die Option Striping (für RAID 0) oder Mirroring (Spiegelung) (für RAID 1). 6 Klicken Sie auf Weiter. Das Fenster Auswahl der freien Laufwerke wird angezeigt. ANMERKUNG: Nur Laufwerke, bei denen RAID aktiviert ist, werden als freie Laufwerke angezeigt. 7 Wählen Sie durch Klicken die Laufwerke für die RAID-Konfiguration aus, klicken Sie auf Weiter und danach noch einmal auf Weiter.
Es erscheint ein Bestätigungsfenster mit dem Namen und der Größe des zum Löschen markierten Arrays. 5 Klicken Sie auf Fertig stellen, um die RAID-Konfiguration zu löschen. Das MediaShield RAID-Verwaltungsfenster wird geöffnet. Es enthält etwaige verbleibende Arrays und weitere installierte Festplatten. 5 Wählen Sie ein zweites Laufwerk, das im RAID-Klasse 0-Datenträger enthalten sein soll, und dann auf den Rechtspfeil. Die ausgewählten Laufwerke erscheinen im Fenster Ausgewählt. HINWEIS: Warum muss man eine Festplatte defragmentieren? Eine fragmentierte Festplatte speichert Dateien in Fragmenten an vielen verschiedenen Stellen auf der Festplatte. Der Computer muss dann die gesamte Festplatte durchsuchen, um die vollständige Datei abzurufen. Durch die Defragmentierung werden alle fragmentierten Bestandteile einer Datei an einem Ort zusammengefasst. Dadurch wird die Zeit reduziert, die der Computer zum Auffinden und Öffnen aller Teile einer Datei benötigt.
2 Wählen Sie das gewünschte Laufwerk aus und klicken Sie auf Analysieren, um festzustellen, ob eine Defragmentierung erforderlich ist. Klicken Sie auf Defragmentieren, um fortzufahren und die Festplatte zu defragmentieren. ANMERKUNG: Während der Defragmentierung sollten Sie Ihren Computer nicht verwenden. Entfernen von Viren und Spyware Bei Computerviren und Spyware handelt es sich um versteckte Software, die Ihre Dateien schädigt und ohne Ihr Wissen oder Einverständnis Informationen auf Ihrem Computer sammelt. Computerviren können die Leistung Ihres Computers beeinträchtigen und Daten zerstören. Wenn Ihr Computer ans Internet angeschlossen ist, sollten Sie Antiviren- und Antispyware-Programme installieren. Stromversorgung (Energieeinstellungen, Überspannungsschutzgeräte und Akkus) Einstellen der Energieoptionen Windows Vista® Verwenden von Energiesparplänen Windows Vista besitzt drei Standard-Energiesparpläne, die Sie unverändert verwenden oder entsprechend Ihren Anforderungen konfigurieren können. Die Standard-Energiesparpläne legen fest, wie der Computer durch Energieeinsparung, Maximierung der Systemleistung und Erreichen eines Gleichgewichts zwischen diesen beiden Faktoren Strom nutzt.
• Hohe Leistung bietet das höchste Leistungsniveau, indem die Prozessorgeschwindigkeit an die jeweilige Aktivität angepasst und die maximale Leistung erbracht wird. So wählen Sie einen Energiesparplan aus: 1 Klicken Sie auf Start Energieoptionen. → Systemsteuerung → System und Wartung→ 2 Wählen Sie die gewünschte Option aus. Ruhezustand Um Strom zu sparen, werden im Ruhezustand sämtliche Systemdaten in einen reservierten Bereich auf der Festplatte kopiert und der Computer danach vollständig ausgeschaltet. Beim Verlassen des Ruhezustands kehrt der Computer in den Ausgangszustand zurück, in dem er sich vor dem Ruhezustand befand. HINWEIS: Im Ruhemodus können Sie keine Geräte entfernen oder den Computer vom Docking-Gerät trennen. Der Computer wechselt in den Ruhemodus, wenn der Ladezustand des Akkus sehr niedrig ist.
Windows® XP Konfigurieren der Energieeinstellungen 1 Klicken Sie auf Start → Systemsteuerung→ Leistung und Wartung→ Energieoptionen. 2 Im Fenster Eigenschaften von Energieoptionen können Sie die folgenden Einstellungen ändern, um sie Ihrem Computer bestmöglich anzupassen: • Energieschema - Mit dieser Option wählen Sie vorkonfigurierte Einstellungen für den Computer aus. • Alarme - Mit dieser Option stellen Sie Alarme für einen niedrigen oder kritischen Akkuladezustand ein (bei Notebook-Computern).

Überspannungsschutz Schließen Sie die Stromleitung des Computers an ein Überspannungsschutzgerät oder eine Steckerleiste mit Überspannungsschutz an, um zu verhindern, dass der Computer durch Spannungsspitzen beschädigt wird, die während Gewittern oder infolge von Stromunterbrechungen auftreten können. Einige Hersteller von Überspannungsschutzgeräten gewähren darüber hinaus Garantien für bestimmte Schäden.
ANMERKUNG: Um eine maximale Betriebsdauer zu gewährleisten, sollten Sie nur den Computer an das USV-Gerät anschließen. Schließen Sie andere Geräte wie Drucker an eine getrennte Steckerleiste mit Überspannungsschutz an. USV-Geräte schützen vor Stromschwankungen und -unterbrechungen. USVGeräte enthalten einen Akku, der vorübergehend die Versorgung der angeschlossenen Geräte übernimmt, wenn die Netzstromversorgung unterbrochen wird. Wenn Netzstrom verfügbar ist, wird der Akku aufgeladen.
Aufrechterhaltung der Akkulebensdauer Die Betriebsdauer eines Akkus, d.h. der Zeitraum, über den ein Akku seine Ladung behält, hängt von der Verwendung des Laptop-Computers ab.
VORSICHT: Bei unsachgemäßer Verwendung des Akkus besteht Brand- oder Verätzungsgefahr. Der Akku darf nicht aufgestochen, verbrannt, auseinander genommen oder Temperaturen über 65°C ausgesetzt werden. Bewahren Sie den Akku außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern auf. Behandeln Sie beschädigte oder auslaufende Akkus mit äußerster Vorsicht. Beschädigte Akkus können auslaufen und Verletzungen oder Sachschäden verursachen.
Akku-Ladestandanzeige Die Betriebsdauer des Akkus hängt von der Ladehäufigkeit ab. Nach Hunderten von Ladungs-/Entladungszyklen verlieren Akkus einen Teil ihrer Ladekapazität, d.h. der Akkuzustand verschlechtert sich. Ein Akku kann also den Ladestand „Aufgeladen“ aufweisen und dennoch über eine verringerte Ladekapazität verfügen. Dies wird als Akkuzustand bezeichnet.
Warnung „Akku niedrig“ HINWEIS: Um Datenverlust zu vermeiden, sollten Sie Ihre Arbeit nach einer solchen Warnung unverzüglich speichern. Schließen Sie den Computer dann an eine Netzsteckdose an, oder setzen Sie einen zweiten Akku in den Modulschacht ein, falls der Laptop-Computer mit diesem ausgestattet ist. Wenn der Akku vollständig entladen ist, wird der Ruhemodus automatisch aktiviert. Auf dem Laptop-Computer wird eine Warnung angezeigt, wenn der Akku zu ungefähr 90 Prozent entladen ist.
Aufladen des Akkus Wenn Sie den Computer an das Stromnetz anschließen oder einen Akku einsetzen, während der Computer mit Netzstrom betrieben wird, prüft der Computer den Ladezustand und die Temperatur des Akkus. Das Netzteil lädt den Akku auf und hält die Akkuladung aufrecht. ANMERKUNG: Mit Dell™ ExpressCharge™ kann das Netzteil bei ausgeschaltetem Computer einen vollständig entleerten Akku in etwa einer Stunde auf 80 Prozent und in etwa zwei Stunden auf 100 Prozent der Ladekapazität aufladen.
HINWEIS: Zum Abschalten der Akkuladung können Sie die entsprechende Funktion im Dell ControlPoint verwenden. Dies ist z.B. nützlich in Flugzeugen, wo das Aufladen von Akkus u.U. nicht gestattet ist. Netzwerke (LAN, Wireless, mobiles Breitband) LAN WLAN Übersicht Ein Computernetzwerk stellt eine Verbindung zwischen dem Computer und dem Internet, einem anderen Computer oder einem Peripheriegerät wie einem Drucker her.
Der Netzwerkverbindungsassistent führt Sie durch die Schritte zum Einrichten eines Computernetzwerks und zum Verbinden mit anderen Netzwerken. Die Intel® Active Management-Technologie (Intel AMT oder iAMT®) bietet erweiterte Werkzeuge zur Verwaltung von vernetzten Computern. Diese Intel AMT-Software ist auf einigen Dell-Computern verfügbar. Siehe „Verwalten vernetzter Computer mit der Intel® Active Management-Technologie“ auf Seite 186.
Komponenten zum Einrichten eines LAN • Kabel- oder DSL-Breitbandmodem mit Internetzugang. Weitere Informationen zu Breitbandverbindungen finden Sie unter „Breitbandzugang“ auf Seite 167. • Router - Ein Router verbindet Computer und Peripheriegeräte in einem Netzwerk miteinander, so dass die Computer gemeinsam auf das durch das Breitbandmodem bereitgestellte Internet zugreifen können. Ad-hoc-Netzwerke Ad-hoc-Netzwerke verbinden ohne Verwendung eines Routers oder AccessPoints zwei oder mehrere Computer miteinander, die sich in geringem Abstand voneinander befinden. Normalerweise dienen Ad-hoc-Netzwerke zur Freigabe von Dateien und zum Spielen von Computerspielen.
Das Fenster für Informationen zum Einrichten eines Ad-hoc-Drahtlosnetzwerks wird angezeigt. In diesem Fenster wird ein Ad-hoc-Netzwerk erläutert und angegeben, dass der Computer bis zu 10 m von anderen Computern, mit denen Sie eine Verbindung herstellen möchten, entfernt sein kann. 3 Klicken Sie auf Weiter, um mit der Installation zu beginnen. 4 Folgen Sie den Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm.
ANMERKUNG: Auch wenn Sie an einem bestimmten geografischen Standort mit Ihrem Mobiltelefon einen Anruf tätigen können, bedeutet dies nicht unbedingt, dass Sie sich im Empfangsbereich für mobile Daten befinden. Verwalten des Netzwerks mit dem Dienstprogramm für die mobile Breitbandkarte von Dell 1 Klicken Sie im Windows-Infobereich auf das Symbol für das Dienstproum das Dienstprogramm der mobilen Breitbandkarte von Dell gramm auszuführen. 2 Klicken Sie auf Verbinden. 3 Folgen Sie den Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm, um die Netzwerkverbindung mithilfe des Dienstprogramms zu verwalten. HINWEIS: Dell bietet eine einfache Methode für den Einstieg mit dem mobilen Breitband an.
WPAN ANMERKUNG: WPAN wird nicht von allen Computern unterstützt WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network) hilft bei der Verbindung drahtloser Geräte in der Umgebung um Ihren persönlichen Arbeitsplatz. Die WPAN-Technologie unterstützt Kommunikation über kurze Entfernungen. Bluetooth als Grundlage für den neuen IEEE 802.15 Standard ist ein Beispiel für WPAN.
Schützen Sie den Router. Wenn der Netzwerkrouter nicht geschützt ist, kann sich ein Hacker über Ihre Breitband-Internetverbindung Zugang zu Ihrem Computer verschaffen. Um die Sicherheit des Netzwerks zu erhöhen, geben Sie für den Netzwerknamen und das Administrator-Kennwort mithilfe der Router-Konfigurationssoftware eindeutige Werte ein und ändern Sie das Administrator-Kennwort regelmäßig. Aktivieren Sie die Datenverschlüsselung beim Einrichten des Routers.
Schutz des Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) Ändern Sie die Standardeinstellung des Administrator-Kennworts für den Router und den Standardnamen des Wireless-Netzwerks (SSID). Der Wireless-Router verwendet ein AdministratorKennwort und einen Wireless-Netzwerknamen (Service Set Identifier [SSID]), die vom Router-Hersteller standardmäßig festgelegt werden. Legen Sie die Verschlüsselung fest. Aktivieren Sie die Datenverschlüsselung beim Einrichten des Wireless-Routers.
Richten Sie den MACFilter ein. Wenn Sie den Wireless-Router so konfigurieren, dass ein MAC-Filter verwendet wird, schränkt der Router über die eingegebenen MAC-Adressen den Zugriff auf Wireless-Adapter ein. 1 Öffnen Sie das Fenster Eingabeaufforderung und geben Sie den Befehl ipconfig/all ein. 2 Achten Sie unter der Wireless-Netzwerkverbindung auf den 12-stelligen Hexadezimalwert Physikalische Adresse. Dieser Wert stellt die MAC-Adresse für den Wireless-Adapter des Computers dar.
Aktualisieren Sie Ihre Software. Vor der Verwendung öffentlicher Wireless-Netzwerke aktualisieren Sie das Betriebssystem und die Sicherheitssoftware mit den neuesten Sicherheitspatches und Virusinformationen. Verwenden Sie eine Firewall. Stellen Sie unter Windows Vista oder Windows XP sicher, dass die Windows-Firewall aktiviert ist. Siehe „Verwenden einer Firewall zum Schutz von Computern“ auf Seite 277.
Suchen von Netzwerken mit dem Dell Wi-Fi Catcher™ Network Locator Möglicherweise ist der Computer mit einem Wireless-Schalter ausgestattet. Um festzustellen, ob der Computer einen Wireless-Schalter besitzt und wo dieser angebracht ist, sehen Sie im Abschnitt „Wissenswertes über Ihren Computer“ im Handbuch nach. Der Wireless-Schalter verwendet den Dell Wi-Fi Catcher Network Locator, um speziell nach Wireless-Netzwerken in Ihrer näheren Umgebung zu suchen.
Dell ControlPoint Connection Manager (Verbindungsmanager) Sie können den Dell ControlPoint Connection Manager über die Anwendung Dell ControlPoint (DCP) aufrufen. DCP-Symbol Der Dell ControlPoint Connection Manager ist eine Anwendung für Netzwerkkonnektivität, mit der Sie alle Netzwerke von einer einzigen Stelle auf dem Computer verwalten können.

Verwalten vernetzter Computer mit der Intel® Active Management-Technologie Bei einigen Systemen setzt Dell die Intel® Active Management-Technologie (Intel AMT oder iAMT®) ein, damit Netzwerkadministratoren vernetzte Computer verwalten können.
Internetzugang Übersicht Das Internet ist ein elektronisches Kommunikationsnetzwerk, in dem Computernetzwerke (von individuellen sowie in Organisationen eingebundenen Benutzern) auf der ganzen Welt miteinander verbunden sind. Das Internet unterstützt eine umfassende weltweite Sammlung von Computern und Servern, die Dokumente oder informative Seiten (sogenannte Webseiten) enthalten, die durch ein Hypertextverknüpfung oder Hyperlinks genanntes Verfahren miteinander verbunden sind.
• Kabelmodemverbindungen für Hochgeschwindigkeits-Internetzugang über das örtliche Kabel-TV-Netz. • Satellitenmodemverbindungen für Hochgeschwindigkeits-Internetzugang über ein Satellitenfernsehsystem. • DFÜ-Verbindungen für den Internetzugang über eine Telefonleitung. DFÜ-Verbindungen sind deutlich langsamer als DSL-Verbindungen und Kabel- oder Satelliten-Modemverbindungen.
1 Wenn Sie eine bestimmte Website betrachten möchten, öffnen Sie Internet Explorer, indem Sie auf das Programmsymbol von Internet Explorer klicken. 2 Wenn sich der Browser öffnet, klicken Sie auf die Adressleiste oben im Browserfenster und geben Sie eine Internetadresse ein. Das Fenster Internetoptionen wird angezeigt. In diesem Fenster können Sie u. a. die folgenden Einstellungen festlegen: • Startseite des Browsers • Webseiten-Darstellung • Browser-Verlauf • Zugriffsoptionen Einstellen der Startseite des Browsers Legen Sie eine Internetseite (die Sie am häufigsten benutzen) als Startseite fest, so dass bei jedem Öffnen von Internet Explorer die gleiche Seite erscheint. 1 Klicken Sie auf Start→ Systemsteuerung→ Netzwerk und Internetverbindungen→ Internetoptionen.
2 Machen Sie die Schaltflächen zur Steuerung der Webseiten-Darstellung ausfindig. Klicken Sie auf die Schaltflächen der Funktionen, die Sie ändern möchten. Farben Im Fenster der Farbauswahloptionen können Sie die Farben für Text, Hintergrund und Hyperlinks ändern. Die Standardeinstellung ist ein einfaches Windows-Farbschema mit schwarzem Text, weißem Hintergrund und blauen Hyperlinks (violett für bereits besuchte Webseiten).
Vergrößern Sie können die Größe des Bildschirminhalts mit Hilfe der ZoomFunktion einstellen. Halten Sie die -Taste gedrückt und drücken Sie Plus (+) zum Vergrößern. Halten Sie die -Taste gedrückt und drücken Sie Minus (-) zum Verkleinern. Einsparen von Speicherplatz durch Einstellen des Webbrowser-Verlaufs Internet Explorer speichert den Besuch von Webseiten in einem Verlaufsprotokoll und beschleunigt damit das Laden von Grafiken bei jedem weiteren Besuch dieser Webseiten.
5 Klicken Sie auf Popups immer in neuer Registerkarte öffnen. Dadurch stellen Sie sicher, dass Werbe-Popups sich in dem Webbrowser öffnen, den Sie gerade benutzen, ohne dass Sie an eine neue Adresse weitergeleitet werden. 6 Klicken Sie im Abschnitt Links von anderen Programmen öffnen auf Neue Registerkarte im aktuellen Fenster. Dadurch werden Hyperlinks in einer neuen Registerkarte ohne Öffnen eines neuen Browsers geöffnet.
• Vertrauenswürdige Websites können einer Liste hinzugefügt werden, so dass die Informationen dieser Websites als sicher gehandhabt werden. • In die Liste mit eingeschränkten (Restricted) Websites können Sie die Websites einfügen, bei denen Sie Befürchtungen hinsichtlich der Computersicherheit haben. 2 Geben Sie die Internetadresse der Website ein und klicken Sie auf OK.
Viren Viren sind Programme, die Ihren Computer angreifen, Daten und Systemprogramme beschädigen und vertrauliche Informationen missbrauchen. Spam Spam sind unerwünschte E-Mail-Nachrichten, beispielsweise Kettenbriefe oder Werbung. Zur Reduzierung der Spam-Menge können Sie Anti-SpamProgramme installieren. Diese Programme sind jedoch keine Ideallösung und können unter Umständen auch erwünschte E-Mails blockieren. Sie erhalten Anti-Spam-Programme auf der Dell-Webseite.

Kontrollieren unerwünschter Symbolleisten Symbolleiste Symbolleisten befinden sich oben im Browser und helfen Ihnen beim Navigieren durch Webseiten. Symbolleisten sind hilfreich, aber eine Vielzahl von Symbolleisten verringert die Größe des zum eigentlichen Betrachten der Webseiten genutzten Browserfensters. 1 Klicken Sie auf Ansicht. 2 Klicken Sie auf Symbolleisten. Ein Menü erscheint, in dem alle für den Browser zur Verfügung stehenden Symbolleisten angezeigt werden.
Verwenden Sie in Internet Explorer das Menü Favoriten, um Lesezeichen für häufig besuchte Websites einzufügen. Wenn Sie sich auf der gewünschten Webseite befinden, klicken Sie auf Favoriten→ Zu Favoriten hinzufügen. ÜBERPRÜFEN SIE DAS MAUSKABEL – • Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Kabel nicht beschädigt oder durchgescheuert ist, und überprüfen Sie Kabelstecker auf verbogene oder abgebrochene Kontaktstifte. Beheben von Störungen
System-Setup Anzeigen der Systemeinstellungen mithilfe des System-Setup-Programms Die meisten Setup-Optionen des System-Setup-Programms werden vom Betriebssystem automatisch konfiguriert und überschreiben die Optionen, die Sie über das System-Setup-Programm festgelegt haben. Eine Ausnahme stellt hier die Option für externe Tastenkombination dar, die nur über das System-Setup-Programm aktiviert oder deaktiviert werden kann.
Aufrufen des System-Setup-Programms 1 Schalten Sie den Computer ein oder führen Sie einen Neustart aus. 2 Wenn das DELL™-Logo angezeigt wird, drücken Sie sofort die Taste . 3 Falls Sie zu lange gewartet haben und das Betriebssystem-Logo eingeblendet wird, warten Sie noch, bis der Microsoft® Windows®-Desktop angezeigt wird. Fahren Sie dann den Computer herunter und versuchen Sie es erneut.
Ändern der Startreihenfolge Die Startreihenfolge (auch Startsequenz genannt) teilt dem Computer mit, in welcher Reihenfolge Geräte nach der Software zum Starten des Betriebssystems durchsucht werden sollen. Sie können die Startsequenz festlegen und Geräte aktivieren bzw. deaktivieren, indem Sie die entsprechenden Einstellungen auf der Seite Startreihenfolge des System-Setup-Programms vornehmen.
5 Drücken Sie die Taste und anschließend die Eingabetaste, um das System-Setup-Programm zu beenden und den Startvorgang fortzusetzen. Änderungen der Startreihenfolge werden nach dem Speichern der Einstellungen und Beenden des System-Setup-Programms wirksam. Einmaliges Ändern der Startreihenfolge Sie können eine einmalige Startreihenfolge festlegen, ohne das SystemSetup-Programm zu starten. 1 Fahren Sie den Computer über das Startmenü herunter. 2 Schalten Sie den Computer ein.

IEEE 1394 Schnittstelle Wie USB ist IEEE 1394 ein Protokoll für die serielle Datenübertragung, welches Hot-Swapping unterstützt. IEEE 1394 wird vorzugsweise für Anwendungen mit einer hohen Bandbreite verwendet, wie für die Verbindung digitaler Videokameras und externer Festplatten.
RS232 serielle Schnittstelle Eine serielle Schnittstelle ist eine serielle physikalische Schnittstelle, die jeweils ein Bit hin bzw. her überträgt. Eine serielle Schnittstelle wird normalerweise mit RS-232 standardmäßiger Hardware identifiziert. So verwenden u.a. Geräte, wie DFÜ-Modems, Drucker und serielle Mäuse normalerweise eine serielle Schnittstelle.
Parallele Schnittstelle Bei der Datenübertragung über eine parallele Schnittstelle werden jeweils 8 Bits (1 Byte) übertragen. Die Übertragung erfolgt parallel - im Gegensatz zur seriellen Schnittstelle, bei der die Bits nacheinander übertragen werden. Eine parallele Schnittstelle wird auch als Drucker- oder Centronics-Schnittstelle bezeichnet und wird normalerweise für Drucker eingesetzt.
eSATA Port SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) ist ein hauptsächlich für den Datenaustausch zwischen Prozessor und Festplatte und optischen Laufwerken entwickelter Datenbus. Externe SATA- oder eSATA-Benutzer können bis zu 2 Meter lange abgeschirmte Kabel einsetzen, um die Vorteile zu nutzen, welche die SATASchnittstelle bei der Speicherung aufweist. eSATA stellt mehr Leistung bereit als die vorhandenen Lösungen. So ist eSATA 6 Mal schneller als die vorhandenen externen Speicherlösungen (USB 2.
Modem Eine Modemschnittstelle verwendet ein internes Modem mit einer Telefonleitung. Ein Modem dient zur Verbindung eines Computers mit dem Internet, indem es Daten über die Telefonleitung an einen Internet Service Provider (ISP) sendet. Üblicherweise befinden sich zwei Modem-Schnittstellen nebeneinander. Die eine als Leitung (oder mit einem Leitungssymbol) identifizierte Schnittstelle ist mit dem Telefonleitungsanschluss verbunden.
Ethernet-Schnittstelle Eine Ethernet-Schnittstelle verwendet einen Twisted-Pair-Anschluss für Networking und eine schnellere Internetverbindung. Das in diesen Anschluss eingesteckte Kabel kann entweder zu einem Netzwerk-Hub (eine Abzweigdose, in der viele Kabel zusammen verdrahtet werden können) direkt zu einem Kabel- oder DSL-Modem oder einem InternetGateway führen, welches eine schnelle Internetverbindung für mehrere Com-puter bereitstellt.
Tastatur- und Mausanschluss (PS2) Der 1987 von IBM eingeführte PS/2-Standard steht für Personal System/2. In den PS/2-Anschluss wird üblicherweise eine Tastatur oder Maus eingesteckt.
VGA-Anschluss Der Video Graphics Array (VGA)-Anschluss unterstützt die grundlegende Grafik-Hardware, bis ein gerätespezifischer Treiber in den Computer geladen wird.
DVI-I Anschluss DVI-I (Digital Video Interface-Integrated) ist eine Schnittstelle für digitales Video mit Integration analoger Video-Signale in einem einzigen Kabel. Dieses kann entweder digitale an digitale oder analoge an analoge Signale versenden, jedoch nicht digitale an analoge oder analoge an digitale.
S-Video-TV-Ausgangsanschluss SUPER Video (S-Video), auch bekannt als Y/C, ist ein analoges Video, das die Videodaten als zwei Signale überträgt: Luminanz (Helligkeit) und Chrominanz (Farbe). S-Video unterstützt ein Standard-Definition-Video, überträgt jedoch kein Audio über das gleiche Kabel. S-Video liefert bei Einsatz einer sauberen DVD-Quelle scharfe Bilder.
Komponenten-Video Komponenten-Video besteht aus drei Signalen. Das erste ist das Luminanz-Signal, welches die Helligkeits- oder SchwarzWeiß-Informationen im Original RGB (rot, grün, blau)-Signal anzeigt. Dieses wird als die Y-Komponente bezeichnet. Das zweite und dritte Signal werden als die Farbabweichungssignale bezeichnet, welche die Menge von blauen und roten Signalen im Vergleich zur Luminanz anzeigen. Die blaue Komponente ist Y-B, die rote Y-R.
Mischsignal-Video Mischsignal-Video ist eine Schnittstelle für das Senden und Empfangen eines analogen Videosignals. Hierbei werden verschiedene Signale vermischt: LUMA, CHROMA und SYNC (zusammen bezeichnet als CVSB oder Mischsignal Video Blanking und Sync). LUMA stellt die Helligkeit oder Luminanz des Bildes dar und die Synchronisierung oder SYNC-Impulse. CHROMA überträgt die Farbinformationen.
HDMI-Schnittstelle High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) PORT ist eine kompakte Audio-/Video-Schnittstelle für die Übertragung unkomprimierter digitaler Datenströme. HDMI überträgt über ein einziges Kabel PC- oder TV-Videoformate, wie Standard-, optimiertes und Hochdefinitionsvideo sowie bis zu 8 Kanäle digitalen Audios. HDMI ist unabhängig von den unterschiedlichen Digital-TVStandards.
DisplayPort™ DisplayPort ist ein durch die Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) genormter universeller Verbindungsstandard für die Übertragung von Bildund Tonsignalen. Hierbei handelt es sich um eine neue lizenzfreie digitale Audio-/Video-Verbindung, die vor allem zwischen einem Computer und seinem Monitor oder einem Computer und einem Heimkino eingesetzt wird. S/PDIF Port (Coaxial RCA) Sony/Philips Digital Interconnect Format (S/PDIF) ist eine serielle Schnittstelle für die Übertragung digitaler Audiosignale von CD- und DVD-Spielern an Verstärker und Fernseher. S/PDIF verwendet ein asymmetrisches 75 Ohm Koaxialkabel mit einer Länge bis zu 10 Metern mit Koaxial-RCA-Steckern oder Glasfaser mit einem Toslink (Toshiba Link)-Stecker.
Audio-Schnittstellen 2 1 3 6 4 5 Schnittstelle Signal Verbindung 1 Leitungseingangsanschluss Am (blauen) Leitungseingangsanschluss können Sie ein Aufnahme-/Wiedergabegerät anschließen, beispielsweise einen Kassettenrecorder, einen CD-Spieler oder einen Videorecorder. Bei Computern mit einer Soundkarte muss der Anschluss auf der Karte verwendet werden.
ANMERKUNG: Der LFE-Audiokanal (Low Frequency Effects) von digitalen Surround-Sound-Systemen überträgt nur niedrige Frequenzen von 80 Hz und darunter. Mit dem LFE-Kanal wird ein Subwoofer angesteuert, um extrem tiefe Bässe zu erzeugen. Bei Systemen ohne Subwoofer lassen sich die LFE-Informationen im Surround-Sound-Setup auf die Hauptlautsprecher umleiten.

ACPI – Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (Erweiterte Konfigurations- und Energieverwaltungsschnittstelle).
ASF – Alert Standards Format. Ein Standard, der definiert, wie Hardware- und Software-Warnungen an die Verwaltungskonsole gemeldet werden. ASF ist plattform- und betriebssystemunabhängig ausgelegt. Auflösung – Die Schärfe und Klarheit eines Bildes, das von einem Drucker erzeugt bzw. auf einem Monitor angezeigt wird. Je höher die Auflösung, desto schärfer ist das Bild. B Bildschirmauflösung – Siehe Auflösung.
C C – Celsius. Ein Temperaturmaßsystem, bei dem der Gefrierpunkt von Wasser als 0 °C und der Siedepunkt von Wasser als 100 °C definiert ist (bei Normaldruck). Cache – Ein spezieller, schneller Speichermechanismus, bei dem es sich entweder um einen reservierten Bereich des Arbeitsspeichers oder um ein unabhängiges schnelles Speichergerät handeln kann. Der Cache-Speicher erhöht die Geschwindigkeit vieler Prozessoroperationen. L1-Cache – Primärer Cache, der im Prozessor integriert ist.
D DDR SDRAM – Abkürzung für „Double-Data-Rate SDRAM“. Eine SDRAM-Ausführung, die den Daten-Burst-Zyklus verdoppelt und dadurch die Systemleistung erhöht. DDR2 SDRAM – Doppelte Datenübertragungsrate 2 SDRAM – Eine Art DDR SDRAM mit 4-bit-Prefetch und anderen Architekturanpassungen, um die Speichergeschwindigkeit auf über 400 MHz zu erhöhen. DIMM – Dual In-line Memory Module. Eine Schaltkreisplatine mit Speicherchips, die mit einem auf der Systemplatine angebrachten Speichermodul verbunden wird.
DVD-R – DVD Recordable. Eine beschreibbare Version der DVD. Daten können nur einmal auf eine DVD-R geschrieben werden. Sobald Daten aufgezeichnet sind, können sie nicht gelöscht oder überschrieben werden. DVD+RW – DVD Rewritable (Überschreibbare DVD). Mehrfach beschreibbare Version der DVD. DVD+RWs können beschrieben werden. Die Daten können anschließend wieder gelöscht oder überschrieben werden. (Die DVD+RW-Technologie unterscheidet sich von der DVD-RW-Technologie.
Erweiterter Anzeigemodus – Eine Anzeigeeinstellung, mit der Sie einen zweiten Monitor als Erweiterung zum integrierten Bildschirm nutzen können. Wird auch als Dual-Display-Modus bezeichnet. Erweiterungskarte – Eine Leiterplatte, die in einen Erweiterungssteckplatz auf der Systemplatine des Computers eingesteckt wird und die Fähigkeiten des Computers erweitert. Dazu gehören beispielsweise Video-, Modem- und Soundkarten.
Fingerabdruckleser – Ein Streifensensor, der anhand Ihres eindeutigen Fingerabdrucks Ihre Benutzeridentität authentifiziert, um Ihren Computer zu sichern. Formatieren – Der Vorgang, mit dem ein Laufwerk oder eine Diskette auf die Datenspeicherung vorbereitet wird. Wenn ein Laufwerk oder eine Diskette formatiert wird, gehen die darauf gespeicherten Daten verloren. FSB – Frontside-Bus. Der Datenpfad und die physische Schnittstelle zwischen Prozessor und RAM.
I IC – Integrated Circuit (Integrierte Schaltung). Eine Halbleiterscheibe, auch Chip genannt, die mit Tausenden oder Millionen winziger elektronischer Komponenten bestückt ist und in Computern, Audio- und Videogeräten zum Einsatz kommt. IDE – Integrated Device Electronics (Integrierte Laufwerkelektronik). Eine Schnittstelle für Massenspeichergeräte, bei der der Controller bereits in das Festplatten- oder CD-Laufwerk integriert ist.
K KB – Kilobyte – Dateneinheit, entspricht 1.024 Byte; wird oft auch vereinfachend für 1.000 Byte verwendet. Kbit – Kilobit. Eine Dateneinheit entspricht 1.024 Bit. Eine Maßeinheit für die Kapazität von Speicherbausteinen. kHz – Kilohertz. Eine Maßeinheit für Frequenzen. 1 kHz entspricht 1.000 Hz. Kühlkörper – Eine Metallplatte auf einigen Prozessoren, die zur Wärmeableitung dient. L LAN – Local Area Network (Lokales Netzwerk). Ein Computernetzwerk für einen kleinen Bereich.

Mini PCI – Ein Standard für integrierte Peripheriegeräte, vor allem für Kommunikationsgeräte wie Modems und NICs. Eine Mini-PCI-Karte ist eine kleine externe Karte, die funktional einer PCI-Standarderweiterungskarte entspricht.
O Optisches Laufwerk – Bei diesem Laufwerk werden mithilfe von optischen Verfahren Daten von CDs, DVDs oder DVD+RWs gelesen oder darauf geschrieben. Optische Laufwerke sind z. B. CD-, DVD-, CD-RW-Laufwerke und CD-RW-/DVDKombinationslaufwerke. Ordner – Dieser Begriff beschreibt den Platz auf einer Diskette oder auf einem Laufwerk, an dem Dateien organisiert und gruppiert sind.
Plug-and-Play – Die Fähigkeit des Computers, Geräte automatisch zu konfigurieren. Plug-and-Play ermöglicht eine automatische Installation bzw. Konfiguration und gewährleistet die Kompatibilität mit vorhandener Hardware, sofern BIOS, Betriebssystem und alle Geräte Plug-and-Play-kompatibel sind. POST – Power-On Self-Test (Einschaltselbsttest).

Service-Tag-Nummer – Wenn Sie die Dell Support-Website unter support.dell.com aufrufen oder sich telefonisch mit dem technischen Support von Dell in Verbindung setzen, dient dieses Strichcode-Etikett zur Identifikation Ihres Computers. Siehe ebenfalls Express Service Code. Setup-Programm – Ein Programm, das Hardware und Software installiert und konfiguriert. Zum Lieferumfang der meisten Windows Software-Pakete gehört das Programm setup.exe oder install.exe.
Strike Zone™ – Verstärkter Bereich am Boden der Plattform, der das Festplattenlaufwerk schützt, indem er als Dämpfung wirkt, wenn der Computer einer Resonanzerschütterung ausgesetzt oder fallen gelassen wird (unabhängig davon, ob der Computer ein- oder ausgeschaltet ist). SVGA – Super Video Graphics Array. Ein Videostandard für Videokarten und Controller. SVGA arbeitet mit einer Auflösung von 800 x 600 oder 1 024 x 768.
TPM – Trusted Platform Module. Eine Hardware-basierte Sicherheitsfunktion, die in Kombination mit Sicherheitssoftware die Netzwerk- und Computersicherheit erhöht, indem sie Funktionen wie Datei- und E-Mail-Schutz aktiviert. Treiber: Software, die es dem Betriebssystem ermöglicht, ein Gerät zu steuern, z.B. einen Drucker. Viele Geräte arbeiten nicht einwandfrei, wenn der falsche Treiber auf dem Computer installiert ist.
UTP – Unshielded Twisted Pair (Nicht abgeschirmt, verdrillt). Kabeltyp, der in den meisten Telefonnetzwerken und einigen Computernetzwerken Anwendung findet. Nicht abgeschirmte Drahtpaare werden verdrillt, um vor elektromagnetischen Störungen zu schützen. Auf diese Weise wird auch ohne eine Metallabschirmung rund um das Drahtpaar Schutz vor Störungen ermöglicht. UXGA – Ultra-Extended Graphics Array. Ein Videostandard für Videokarten und Controller, der Auflösungen bis zu 1.600 × 1.200 unterstützt.
W W – Watt. Die Maßeinheit für elektrische Leistung. Ein Watt entspricht einer Stromstärke von einem Ampere bei einer Spannung von einem Volt. Wh – Wattstunde. Eine Maßeinheit, die üblicherweise für die Angabe der Akkukapazität verwendet wird. Ein Akku mit 66 Wattstunden kann beispielsweise eine Stunde lang 66 Watt bzw. zwei Stunden lang 33 Watt liefern. WLAN – Wireless Local Area Network (Kabelloses lokales Netzwerk).
