Installing the heat sink assembly

1. Align the screws on the heat sink with the screw holders on the system board.

2. Install the heat sink assembly and tighten the captive screws to secure it to the system board.

3. Connect the system fan cable to the system board.

4. Install the:

a. base cover

b. keyboard

c. optical drive

d. battery

5. Follow the procedures in After working inside your computer.

Removing the system board

1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.

2. Remove the:

a. battery

b. optical drive

c. keyboard

d. base cover

e. hard drive assembly

f. WLAN card

g. I/O board

h. memory module

i. coin cell battery

j. heat sink

3. Lift the locking tab to disconnect the optical drive and power button cable [1, 2].
