Connectivity Guide

l Public: Apps that are not policy wrapped and that you can distribute through volume purchasing programs (VPP).
Both WorkSpace and Enterprise apps are hosted on the WorkSpace server and are wrapped with fine-grained security
policies defined by the administrator. The behavior of these enterprise apps while they are running on the users'
enrolled devices is completely controlled by the security policies defined by the administrator.
WorkSpace Apps
These include:
l Apps that are pre-bundled with WorkSpace server
l Aruba partner apps (This support is not available for Beta trials.)
Enterprise Apps
These include:
l In-house-developed enterprise apps
l Apps that the WorkSpace customer has acquired directly from app vendors
l Apps that the WorkSpace customer has engaged with a consulting company to build for them
Public (App Store) Apps
Public apps are iOS apps that are downloaded directly from the iTunes App Store onto the user's device. When the
device is MDM-managed, the installation of these apps is automatically triggered on the device. When the device is
not MDM-managed, these apps just show up as a recommendation on the user's workspace (under the App Store tab).
If the App Store app is a paid app, the admin console provides an option to upload Volume Purchase Program (VPP)
codes for that app. For an MDM-managed device, the link to the app in the iTunes App Store, along with a VPP code,
is pushed to the device, triggering an app installation without the user having to enter the VPP code manually. The
distribution and management of the VPP codes for paid MDM-managed apps is automated and seamless.
