About Managing Devices
WorkSpace can manage entire iOSdevices, providing data security for those who want to use their own devices on
your network but do not want to install and use the WorkSpace app.
Adding a Device to be Managed
To add a device to be managed:
1. Go to MDM Configuration > Deployment Options.
2. In the Mode drop-down list, select Selected - Only the following devices are MDMmanaged.
3. Click a device in the list.
4. Click Add a new Serial#.
5. Enter the device's Serial # and a Description.
In iOS, find the device's serial number by opening the Settings app, then tap General > About.
6. Click Save Changes.
Viewing Managed Device Information
To view managed device information:
1. Go to Managed Devices >MDM.
2. Click the name of a device.
3. Click Device Information.
The information provided about the device includes:
l Device technical information, including its name, model, capacity, OSversion, serial number, and UDID number.
l Security details
l Installed profiles
l Installed apps.
l Managed apps
l Timestamps
Removing a Managed Device
Managed devices are identified uniquely by their serial numbers. Removing a managed device means that the
MDMserver will no longer affect the device.
To remove a managed device:
1. Go to MDM Configuration >Deployment Options.
2. Click a device in the list.
3. Click Remove.
4. Click OK in the confirmation box.
5. Click Save Changes.
Viewing Details of an App on a Device
You can view a number of details of a managed app installed within the WorkSpace app. These details include not
just its name and ID, but its current status, its lock status, and its wipe status.
